Mawgan Porth, England 5.00Enjoying uninterrupted views of the award-winning Mawgan Porth beach, this fantastic beach house is surrounded by a third of an acre of beautifully kept gardens with a large, sea facing, sun trap decking area, overlooking gently sloping lawns and a pretty stream that trickles down to the sea below. Solar panels help heat the house and water while providing free electrical car charging for our guests’ electric vehicle.
Over the past year (2022), the house has been renovated to the highest standards by one of the country’s leading interior designers and offers plenty of living space all benefitting from exceptional sea views and floor to ceiling sliding doors leading to a large decking area. The large circular fireplace makes for cosy evenings during the Autumn and Winter months. The brand-new handmade kitchen is well supplied with all creature comforts from a juicer to a selection of coffee machines, including a Nespresso. A door leads into a separate TV room with a big corner sofa, both with fabulous sea views and door to the terrace. Three ground floor bedrooms, ome with chandelier, two with those stunning views. A beautiful glass and oak staircase leads from the entrance hall up to the first floor where you will find three more bedrooms; a double bedroom with en-suite shower room; a large twin bedroom with large en-suite shower room, and one with a TV and sofa bed which enjoys the best views of all.
The beach is just a 5-minute walk away from the garden gate. Off the drive, there is a lawned area and to the side of the house a heated outdoor shower for when you return from the beach. The equipment store has a range of children’s wetsuits and storage for boards. Once cleaned off, you can luxuriate in the state-of-the-art Aspen and Spruce spa with a sauna, experiential shower plus cold water bucket for the brave. Situated mid-way between Padstow and Newquay, Mawgan Porth offers you a beautiful west facing beach, stunning scenery, wondrous walks, superb surfing, an amazing variety of restaurants to suit everyone’s taste and pocket, including a cosy pub, seafood restaurant, cafés, and takeaways all within walking distance of Blue Seas. Saint Dennis, EnglandPerfectly situated to enjoy the benefits of Cornwall and sitting quietly behind the converted chapel, overlooking the Cornish countryside, this converted Sunday School provides an ideal holiday base from which to explore the county. Cycling and walking on the official ’Clay Trails’ within the area are a must, along which you can explore the area and even reach the world famous Eden Project. St Austell, with its leisure centre, is approximately 6 miles, as is the village of Charlestown, home to ’tall ships’ and a shipwreck heritage museum that houses artefacts from the Titanic. To the north of the property, the fishing village of Padstow, with its numerous restaurants (local seafood is a speciality), is easily accessible. Also available is bike hire (the famous Camel Trail), fishing trips and diving. Newquay, with its excellent surfing beaches, is approximately 12 miles away. On the south coast, the ancient fishing port of Fowey is within 10 miles and was home to Daphne Du Maurier. Fowey has many events throughout the year, such as the Du Maurier festival and the Fowey Royal Regatta. It is also home to many galleries, pubs, restaurants and shops. Sea fishing, sailing and diving trips are available locally. Bodmin Moor is also close by and provides an excellent location for horse riding, walking and mountain biking. The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Lanhydrock House, Restormel Castle and Crealy Adventure Park are all within an easy drive. Beach 6 miles. Launceston, EnglandSomething for all the family awaits you here at St Leonards. Choose one of the four lovely barn conversions for your family holiday and learn something new during your stay here. The barns are located on a horse riding school, where all the family are encouraged to give horse riding a try. Once in the saddle you will want to take it up when you get back home. The lovely heated outdoor swimming pool is a great hit with families with children, and the Jacuzzi and sauna are favourites with adults. St Leonards certainly is a holiday base with a difference, situated in a wooded valley, it provides a comfortable and relaxing holiday for people of all ages though out the entire year. All the cottages are set on the edge of a courtyard over looking the stables and surrounded by 23 acres of private grounds which is also home to a ½-acre coarse fishing lake, or for something more energetic why not take part in a game of paintball available on site. There is plenty of birdlife here including kingfishers, so you often awaken to the sound of the dawn chorus!
It is an ideal location for touring the both north and south Cornish coasts and close to the Devon/Cornwall border so you can explore both counties from one base. Whether you wish to take it easy in our pool and bbq area, have a swim, ride a horse, try paintball or even go fishing on the River Kensey close by, there is plenty to keep you entertained and make you want to get out and about and feel invigorated by the fresh Cornish air. Perfect for summer, spring, autumn or even winter holidays, all the cottages have been very comfortably furnished and equipped, featuring pine furniture, comfortable beds and woodburners, making them a cosy and welcome home to come back to.
Out and about in the region you can head west by car to the Widemouth Heritage Coast and visit mystical Tintagel and Port Isaac Bay, or head east towards Dartmoor’s wilderness; whichever direction you travel in there is sure to be something new to see. Launceston, 2 miles, once the ancient capital of Cornwall, has shops, a steam railway, castle, golf and an indoor leisure centre. A variety of golf courses locally. A splendid family location with something for everyone, all guests will be well placed for touring both Devon and Cornwall. Launceston, for all amenities, 2 miles.
