Set deep in the beautiful Cornish countryside, this Grade II listed, detached barn conversion is a real escape from the crowds, whilst being less than 3 miles to some of the county’s best beaches - most notably Crantock, Holywell Bay and the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty of the Gannel estuary in Newquay.
The area is full of tourist attractions, both man-made and natural. Amongst the best are Crealy Adventure Park, Lapps Valley Steam Railway, Dairyland, Newquay Zoo, National Trust owned Trerice House and Gardens, through to the beautiful beaches of Newquay (of which there are over 8), the dunes at Holywell Bay and Perranporth and the tranquil Gannel Estuary. The Gannel is a firm favourite with birdwatchers, kayakers and windsurfers and a perfect place for a walk with the dogs and a picnic.
Newquay with its surfing culture is within 4 miles and guests can enjoy discounted surf hire and lessons. Try your hand at this exhilarating sport with local surf coaches. Horse riding, deep sea fishing trips, kayaking and sightseeing trips are all available in and around Newquay. The famous Fistral Beach provides everything you need for that quintessential ingredient of any beach holiday, crabbing and rock pooling, followed by a beach barbecue as the sun sets out to sea. Just a few miles up the coast you will find Watergate Bay, home to a watersports centre, plus a mile of golden sand backed by dramatic cliffs that make this area so unique.
Further along the coast road will bring you to Padstow, home to the gastronomic empire of Rick Stein including his fish and chip shop, where you have to get there early to avoid the queues. Padstow, with its quaint working harbour and narrow cobbled streets that all gravitate back the harbour, are awash with craft and gift shops, galleries and cafés and a real must for all that visit the area. The Camel Trail starts here and bike hire is plentiful at the start. The Eden project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, St Ives, Port Isaac, home to TV’s ’Doc Martin’, Fowey, and Truro, the county capital are all easily reached from Trescowthick and are all a must to enjoy the diverse aspects of this historic county. The town of St Austell is just an 8-minute drive away where you will find local shops, cinema and a choice of restaurants and pubs. The cathedral city of Truro is just a 20-minute drive away, offering a wider selection of amenities. Mevagissey is an ancient fishing village that offers local galleries, craft shops and fresh seafood restaurants. There are many beautiful gardens including the Lost Gardens of Heligan, the world-famous Eden Project and Caerhays Castle and Garden, all nearby. The historic port of Charlestown, one of the settings of TV’s drama ’Poldark’, is nearby as is the Roseland Peninsula. Porthpean and Pentewan Sands are the closest beaches, however there are beaches galore along the south coast. Also available at the village of Pentewan is an off-road cycle and walking trail that leads to the town centre of St Austell. Horse riding, canoeing, boat trips and walking are all catered for locally. There really is no shortage of things to do in this impressive part of Cornwall. Beach 5½ miles. Meander along its narrow streets and browse many local shops, galleries and crafts shops whilst planning lunch in cafés and restaurants that overlook the estuary and out to sea. Activities include deep sea fishing, river kayaking, sailing and walking. For a more leisurely affair, a local hotel just minutes from the house has an impressive spa and indoor infinity pool for a day of pampering and relaxation. The dramatic north coast is within easy reach, where visitors can surf, watch the waves or visit many of the pretty harbour villages, such as Padstow, Port Isaac or St Ives, all essential ports of call for visitors to Cornwall. This is an incredible property for a large family wanting that special house in a fantastic location for your unique holiday. The property fuses eclectic style with a modern contemporary feel with period antique furniture. This has to be a ’one off’ property in Cornwall. There are not many houses that sleep fifteen guests in eight bedrooms that have so much space for everyone. The Old Vicarage is a substantial detached house built in the Victorian style that still retains some lovely original features mixed with modern appliances. The spacious kitchen and dining room are fabulous rooms for entertaining with a stripped wooden floor, complete with French doors leading out to the garden. The central island has a wooden worktop and a double Belfast sink, all in all this a superb room for a special occasion or family gathering. The South West Coastal Path runs along the cliff tops from the end of the garden. Talland beaches are around ¼ mile, or you can continue just over a mile on the southwest coastal path to the pubs and restaurants of Polperro. Alternatively you could head on the longer walk (4 miles) to Looe.

With super lighting and electric sockets. You can take a ferry from Mevagissey to Fowey, an ancient port set within beautiful surroundings and full of charm. Visit St Austell, a town with many amenities and visible links to the once-thriving mining industry here.
The Wheal Martyn Museum is well worth a visit, whilst the world-renowned Eden Project is a short drive away; here huge Biomes protect the world’s largest indoor rainforest and so much more besides! Wherever your adventures take you, you are truly spoilt for choice and at the day’s end, retire home to Windmills, an unforgettable and very special place. Beach 2 miles.

Within a tranquil setting in St. Mabyn, a delightful village in North Cornwall, you will discover this gorgeous countryside cottage. Very traditional in style, this is an excellent retreat when relaxation is a pre-requisite! From your private parking spaces you enter the garden, with mature trees and lovely lawns await, wrapping around the property. Look up as you enjoy this space and you may see a buzzard, kestrel or in the evening hear the hoot of an owl. There is a wonderful covered area with seating for all, perfect for al fresco dining or breakfast before you head off for the day.

Stairs lead you up to the first floor, where there are three double bedrooms, all with country-cottage styling in keeping with the traditional feel throughout and all designed to encourage a peaceful night’s rest after a day of adventures. There is a family bathroom with both a bath and electric shower over.
If you can tear yourself away from this exquisite setting, you are just a few minute’s walk from the village itself, with a superb pub serving a range of wonderful meals. Wadebridge, a historic market town, lies just 3 miles away, with many shops, restaurants and the renowned Camel Trail. Here you can hire a bicycle and take the often breathtaking route through coast and country towards the buzzing and popular town of Padstow or inland to Bodmin, with its heritage steam railway and chilling jail experience! The beaches on the North Coast are some of the finest in the county, from magnificent swathes of golden sand to high rolling waves rolling in off the vast Atlantic Ocean, ideal for surfing and all things watersport. Cliff top vistas and far reaching views are yours to behold, with visits such as as Port Isaac if Doc Martin fame, picture-postcard Boscastle and mystical Tintagel, the legendary home of King Arthur. Bude offers a family friendly experience with several popular beaches and many amenities too. The biggest challenge you will face is deciding which amazing day out you will choose first! The pretty fishing villages of Padstow, Port Isaac and Rock are also a must to visit and mystical Tintagel with the legendary King Arthur’s Castle is just 15 minutes’ drive. For a great day out Camel Creek Family Theme Park, the famous Eden Project, and the wild beauty of Dartmoor and Bodmin moors are all within easy driving distance.
