This semi-detached house is perfect for all ages including families, friends sharing, and the grandparents too, with a double bedroom downstairs and three further bedrooms upstairs. There is a large bathroom with a roll-top bath, great for a long soak in the bubbles plus a separate modern shower downstairs. There is a cosy and snug living room with a wood burner, wall-mounted TV, a DVD player and broadband internet. There is a large kitchen leading into the dining area in the conservatory overlooking the enclosed rear garden with far reaching views across to Rough Tor, the heart of Bodmin moors. With a clean, fresh, modern feel the spacious kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for a large family. The house is dog friendly and there are amazing coastal walks all along the South West Coastal Path.
Whether you are a walker or surfer, or just love a day on the beach, you will enjoy exploring all that this special area has to offer, including the wonderfully historic Tintagel with its fantastic footbridge making accessing the castle much easier than ever before. The picturesque seaside village of Port Isaac, home of the TV series Doc Martin, is just a 10-minute drive away. One of the most popular beaches close by is Trebarwith Strand beach which is just over 2 miles from the cottage. The sandy beach becomes completely covered at high tide and is accessed over rocks when approached from the pretty village of Treknow down a picturesque valley. The property sleeps eight in four lovely bedrooms, one even has a free-standing bath in it plus an en-suite shower room. There is also a separate bunk room that sleeps four people, and two comfortable double bed leather Chesterfield settees are situated in the 28ft conservatory, together with an oak dining table that accommodates up to 14 people and an 18Kw log burner, the conservatory also comes with a Cambridge hifi system. There is also a 14Kw double sided log burner situated in the front room.
If you need to do some washing, then there is a washing machine and tumble dryer located in the main bathroom. The kitchen area has everything you’ll need for your stay including a dishwasher and a coffee machine. Outside you can enjoy the lovely surrounding countryside views from the lawned garden and patios including a lovely decking area. And parking is on the driveway accommodating up to 5 cars.
Hindscarth is surrounded on 3 sides by areas of outstanding natural beauty, the National Cycle trail runs past the property, Bodmin Moor is 1/2 a mile away. Jamaica Inn is within easy reach as is Boscastle, Padstow and Port Isaac. Guests can also enjoy stunning cliff walks and travelling to the South Coast and the Eden project is also recommended. There are also several sandy beaches within easy reach.
Within 8 miles is Tintagel which is inextricably linked to the legend of King Arthur and is steeped in history. A visit to the English Heritage site of Tintagel Castle, where legend and historical fact alike meet stunning scenery, is a definite must while in the area and for Arthurian enthusiasts it is unmissable! There are many beaches in the area for surfers and sunseekers alike including Trebarwith and Bossiney Cove. Much of the North Cornish coastline is owned by the National Trust and is a haven for wildlife, providing fabulous walking opportunities with many well-trodden routes. There are many pretty coves and inlets to discover along this coastline including Crackington Haven, Boscastle, Morwenstow.
A bit further to the south is the fishing port of Padstow and quaint Port Isaac of Doc Martin fame and 16 miles to the north is the fabulous coastal town of Bude. If you fancy crossing over the ‘border’ into Devon and enjoy open spaces then Dartmoor National Park is 27 miles or so to the east – here you can enjoy a day of walking and discover the vast moorland and roam the craggy landscape, defined by forests, rivers, wetlands and rock formations or tors. Or search the Neolithic tombs, Bronze Age stone circles and abandoned medieval farmhouses in this amazing landscape!
