Helford boasts a lovely waterfront pub, which serves local food and ales. Just a short stroll away is the centre of Manaccan, with its thatched cottages and village pub. The area is popular for sailing, water sports, kayaking and fishing, all within easy reach. The Lizard Peninsula is a secret haven of glorious beaches and pretty villages with colourful cottages. Stunning Kynance Cove is only a 15-minute drive away, or visit the lighthouse at The Lizard Peninsula, the UK’s most southerly point. Coverack, St Kevern and Mullion Cove are all well worth a visit and are within easy reach.
Cundurrow Cottage makes the perfect base from which to explore all that south Cornwall has to offer. The cottage provides comfortable and cosy accommodation with a good-sized kitchen, and a beamed living room and a dining room with warming wood burners. French doors lead from the living room out onto a large, enclosed garden, backing onto fields, making the perfect place to unwind in after a day’s exploring. Opposite the cottage is a working farm, where children and visitors will be welcome to meet the animals and see the cows being milked (available on request). Beach 1 mile. If you are looking for an old style, traditional Cornish cottage then look no further. Bellas Mouse is a characterful three-bedroom and three reception room cottage with a self-contained one bedroom annex and a garage and parking. This is a fabulous option for extended families who want to holiday together but would like the option of having some independence.
Found in the old heart of Penryn, just a mile from Falmouth, this vibrant historic waterside town has a range of pubs and eateries including a great fish and chip shop.
Enter through a gate in the wall into a private courtyard with stable doors into the main cottage and the annexe. The annexe has a studio room which has a kingsize bed, an en-suite bathroom and self-contained kitchen, which has access to the garden. The main cottage is delightfully quirky! The two main reception rooms and the two main bedrooms are dual aspect, and the exterior doors are all partly or fully glazed. This allows for the light to make the most of the cottage’s character and shows off the thick and curving walls, typical of a property of this era. This includes low door frames upon which you may bang your head. The kitchen leads out into a little walkway courtyard with steps up to the garden. From the dining room there are steps up to the stairs and down to a cloakroom and a utility room with a door out to the garden. The garden is lovely and private with water views and glimpses over the Falmouth estuary. Bellas Mouse is an old property built on different levels. It has many original features, including low narrow doorways and passages. There are small steps to some of the downstairs living rooms and upstairs to the bedrooms. The stairs to the bedrooms are quite steep and there is no hand rail. Feedback from some guests have cautioned that for anyone with depth perception problems or for those with limited mobility or with young children, the stairs and steps can be disconcerting. The back garden is quirky, quite small and terraced with changes of level and there are steps to access it from the cottage. Shute Lane is typically Cornish; steep and narrow thus making access to the cottage and garage tricky in places.
There is a garage for parking up the lane from the cottage and a second small car can fit in front of the garage doors. The garage is perfect for storing water sports equipment, bikes etc, the owner has provided a hose that can be used to wash down wetsuits. On arrival and departure, it is fine to pull down the lane to quickly unload into the courtyard. The cottage is just a few minutes’ walk from the train station and has excellent public transport links to Falmouth.

There is a huge amount to do on the Lizard, from exploring the little fishing villages, Porthallow, Cadgwith or Coverack and sampling the local wealth of pubs and restaurants. Glorious clifftop walks, such as The Lizard itself, stunning sandy beaches like Coverack, Pentreath, Kynance Cove (which should be experienced), Poldhu or Loe Bar which stretches from Gunwalloe all the way to Porthleven, tourist locations like Flambards, Poldark Mine or Goonhilly.

It is situated in the village of Mylor Bridge, which is at the head of Mylor Creek, a perfect retreat for nature lovers, families, and water sports enthusiasts. The hub of the house is the kitchen/dining room with its impressive electric range, guests can sit around the farmhouse table whilst a meal is being prepared planning the next day’s adventures. There is plenty of space to spread out if you want to watch a programme or read a book, the cosy living room with its open fire is ideal if you like to do puzzles the dining area has a lovely large table. In good weather you can choose to sit on the spacious, secluded front lawn or the enclosed patio area at the back, children will love running around, playing hide and seek amongst the established shrubs. There are three separate outside seating areas to choose from, the patio area has the BBQ, there is a table and chairs on the side walkway of the property and then the last set on the lawn.
Mylor Bridge is a wonderful destination for families with young children, offering a variety of activities and attractions that cater to the needs of little ones. The harbour is a hub of activity, children can enjoy watching the boats and yachts, it Is ideal for taking a leisurely walk along the quayside.
Mylor Creek beach is a family-friendly environment where children to play in the sand, paddle in the shallow waters and explore rockpools, older children may like to try the water sports on offer such as sailing and kayaking, there are sometimes family-friendly sessions available for younger ones. If it’s not a beach day, take the children to the well-maintained, playground where they can burn off energy, going on slides and swings as well as the climbing frames, you can watch from one of the picnic benches. Standing on the headland above the picturesque village of Port Gaverne, the house is a few steps from the north Cornwall coastal path. The beach at Port Gaverne is a 6-7 minute walk away and a little further is Port Isaac, with its huddle of slate houses and narrow alleyways.
The state-of-the-art kitchen is great for catering and cooking the fresh local produce. There are two excellent fish shops in Port Isaac that sell their daily catch of fish and shellfish; specialities are crab and lobster.
Local lamb, beef and pork are all available at the nearby farm shop, which has wonderful views overlooking the sea.
Famous now as the setting for the TV series ’Doc Martin’, Port Isaac is a working fishing village with shops, bars and several top-quality restaurants.
This area is now renowned as a ’foodie paradise’, with several celebrity chefs located here and the area is very well served by a whole variety of dining places to fit every pocket.
Close by is a hotel and next door is a bistro, which has indoor and outdoor dining. There are two Michelin starred restaurants in Port Isaac run by Nathan Outlaw. Nearby in Padstow is Paul Ainsworth’s Michelin starred restaurant and he has a great pub too. Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant and Cookery School are in Padstow. Rick Stein also has a number of other restaurants with varying price ranges.
This is an ideal spot for those who enjoy coastal walks, bird watching, golf, fishing, surfing, sailing, kayaking, cycling or just lazing on the beach. Polzeath’s famous surf attracts all comers, and its glorious sandy beach is just a short drive away. The cliffs, caves and rock pools are a children’s paradise.
Within an easy drive are Padstow, Tintagel, Boscastle, Bude and Wadebridge.
Wadebridge hosts one end of the Camel Trail, with a 5-mile dedicated cycle ride to Padstow on the old railway track, alongside the picturesque Camel Estuary. To the north stands Tintagel’s medieval castle and the quaint fishing village of Boscastle, with Crackington Haven and Bude a little further on. Inland lies Jamaica Inn and Bodmin Moor, the setting for the ’Poldark’ stories.
A few minutes’ walk away is a water sports centre, Cornish Rock Tors, based on the beach at Port Gaverne. They offer kayaking, paddle boarding and coasteering for individuals and groups. Polzeath’s famous surf attracts all comers, and its glorious sandy beach is just a short drive away. Water sports can be enjoyed at Rock, from where a passenger ferry crosses the Camel Estuary to the town of Padstow. Daymer Bay has another glorious sandy beach, and the golf course at St Enodoc is open to the public. John Betjeman, the late Poet Laureate, is buried at St Enodoc Church, with its twisted spire.

The large circular fireplace makes for cosy evenings during the Autumn and Winter months. The brand-new handmade kitchen is well supplied with all creature comforts from a juicer to a selection of coffee machines, including a Nespresso. A door leads into a separate TV room with a big corner sofa, both with fabulous sea views and door to the terrace. Three ground floor bedrooms, ome with chandelier, two with those stunning views. A beautiful glass and oak staircase leads from the entrance hall up to the first floor where you will find three more bedrooms; a double bedroom with en-suite shower room; a large twin bedroom with large en-suite shower room, and one with a TV and sofa bed which enjoys the best views of all.

The beach is just a 5-minute walk away from the garden gate. Off the drive, there is a lawned area and to the side of the house a heated outdoor shower for when you return from the beach. The equipment store has a range of children’s wetsuits and storage for boards. Once cleaned off, you can luxuriate in the state-of-the-art Aspen and Spruce spa with a sauna, experiential shower plus cold water bucket for the brave. Situated mid-way between Padstow and Newquay, Mawgan Porth offers you a beautiful west facing beach, stunning scenery, wondrous walks, superb surfing, an amazing variety of restaurants to suit everyone’s taste and pocket, including a cosy pub, seafood restaurant, cafés, and takeaways all within walking distance of Blue Seas.
