When it is clear you will get glimpses of the sea at Gwithian beach, then in the evening take advantage of the beautiful skies from the decking or if its chilly from the living room. You have views over St Ives Bay from the living room and spectacular evening lights from St Ives Carbis bay and Hayle estuary. If you don’t want to eat out, you will find everything you need in the well-equipped kitchen or eat alfresco overlooking the beautiful countryside or enjoy a cosy dinner admiring the view in the warm.

    Angarrack is a small village nestled in a valley and is home to the imposing Angarrack Viaduct where the local train line crosses the Angarrack river. There are beautiful places to walk and explore in the area by taking the coast path and walking along to Godrey Lighthouse. Wander through the village along the river, or drive to Carn Brea and find the ruins of the old tin mines. Just over 2 miles away is Hayle, a town built on an estuary, with a variety of shops. The local beach Gwithian is 3 miles of golden sand surrounded by sand dunes, for your four-legged friends and Riviere Towans is dog friendly year-round.

    If you want to go further afield, a trip to Marazion is essential, as at low tide you can walk across to St Michaels Mount from Marazion beach; it is advisable to book tickets if you wish to go into the gardens or castle. The beach has a seasonal dog ban during the summer months when dogs are allowed after 6pm and before 10am at this time of the year. Just a little further on is the most westerly town of Penzance, where you can wander winding streets, find subtropical gardens, and sit on the promenade admiring the view.

    Truro is the capital of Cornwall and is 30 minutes’ drive and is a wonderful day out. The cobbled streets are full of small shops, cafés, bars and restaurants, and the cuisine available will cater for everybody’s requirements. Find small shops offering local produce, sample the local gins or wander around the large market. The beautiful Truro Cathedral dominates the city and is a favourite for visitors. After a busy day exploring, come back and relax and enjoy the solitude recharge for the next day’s adventures. The property has easy access so is suitable for guests with restricted mobility.

The house has the benefit of two bathrooms and there are three bedrooms on the first-floor level. The kitchen and sunroom open directly onto a large, private, fully enclosed garden at the rear. The garden can also be accessed through the utility room. A gate to the side of the property into the garden means easy access from a beach trip or dog walk without having to go through the house.
    If you want to eat out, you will find a selection of pubs and restaurants within a short walk from the property. For those who want to eat in, the kitchen offers all the facilities you will need, and the covered decking area is perfect for al fresco dining!     A bus stop, 50 metres from the property, provides a frequent service into St Ives. The house is only a short walk to Lelant railway station on the scenic St Ives branch line, ideal for access to St Ives and Carbis Bay, where parking can be difficult, especially in high season. You can also explore further afield, as the rail link at St Erth will take you on the Penzance to Paddington main line providing access to main towns such as Truro, Falmouth and Newquay.
    For your four-legged friends, Porthkidney Beach, within walking distance of the property, is dog-friendly all year round, with lifeguards during the summer season. There are also plenty of coastal walks to choose from. Close by at Hayle, you will find dunes and a large expanse of beaches. Gwithian is popular with surfers and families as it has parking and a cafe for refreshments, and at low tide, there are large rock pools for little ones to play in.

    St. Ives is a beautiful resort and can easily be accessed on foot via the South West Coastal Path or take the coastal train for spectacular clifftop views. St Ives has much more to offer than just beautiful beaches. Take a boat trip, wander around the shops or visit the Tate Gallery or Barbara Hepworth Museum. Cafés, restaurants and pubs are plentiful. For dogs, there are plenty of woods, coastal and scenic walks within easy distance of the cottage or take the South West Coastal Path to Porthkidney Beach which is dog friendly all year round.     The Light House is in the pretty little village of Gwithian. The Light House is a spacious, dog-friendly, four-bedroom cottage, with an open plan, feel on the ground floor where the conservatory links through to the living room and kitchen. The garden is mainly laid to lawn with a patio to the rear of the house, a great spot to enjoy some al fresco dining or a barbecue. There is a ground floor double bedroom that would ideally suit one person but could accommodate a couple. On the first floor the master bedroom has a kingsize bed and views towards the sea, and another bedroom has a bunk bed. Up on the second floor accessed by steep stairs is a twin bedroom. Please note that the ground floor double bedroom and the shower room can be separated from the rest of the ground floor with the pull down roller blind.

    Blasted by the breeze off the Atlantic, the magnificent beach at Gwithian Towans is always a colourful scene of windsurfers on the water, blow karts on the beach and kites in the sky. Backed by sand dunes, tufted with wild grass, at low tide, there is a vast amount of sand to enjoy, and large areas of rock pools are uncovered, which are great for kids to explore. The beach is dog friendly for most of the year with restrictions only applying between 10am and 6pm in July and August. Gwithian Towans is lifeguard patrolled (during high season). There is some great countryside to explore near here, but a highlight is the stunning coastal road between St Ives and St Just where the moorland meets the sea - wild and dramatic! If you take the train to St Ives, the line hugs the coast, and the views are quite beautiful, and the restaurants are superb. Both the north and south coasts are easily accessible, making it an ideal location for those looking to take advantage of the great surfing spots available in this part of Cornwall. Take your pick, depending on the conditions!
