To the east of the town is the historic city of Plymouth, with its National Marine Aquarium, theatres, cinemas, bowling and shopping, while to the west is the sea faring town of Fowey, home to the royal sailing regatta and many galleries, both of which can be reached by ferry. The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Padstow, Mount Edgcumbe estate, Bodmin Moor and Polperro are all easily reached and provide an excellent day out for all the family. Beach 0.5 miles. The sheltered bays of Talland and Lantic offer excellent swimming and bathing against the backdrop of the dramatic Cornish coastline. Visit the town of Fowey, which can be reached by the regular ferry across the Fowey River. The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are within half an hour’s drive.
