The area is popular with walkers as the site is close to the National Trust coastal path and just a few yards from the Coast to Coast Mineral Tramway. Cycle hire available close by.

It is a short drive to Falmouth with its busy harbour and town, Pendennis Castle and The National Maritime Museum. Take the scenic coastal train from nearby St Erth along the coastline into St Ives, which has several, lovely individual shops, pubs and cafés. There is a beautiful long stretch of beach and sand dunes at Hayle, leading up to the famous lighthouse of Godrevey and Gwithian where, if you are lucky, you will see the seals basking on the beach.
