Turnpike Cottage is a spacious, beautifully presented cottage with a wonderful, large, double aspect kitchen/dining area, three bedrooms, two reception rooms, and three bath/shower rooms. Turnpike Cottage is only a short, 5-minute walk down the hill to the pretty little harbour of Portscatho, where many artists have taken inspiration from the stunning location and superb light in the area. The local public house is nestled in The Square and serves local ales and good pub grub all year round. Rosevine beach is dog friendly throughout the year and is just to the east of the village. It has beautiful golden sands and is over looked by the increasingly famous Hidden Hut. This lovely family friendly cottage offers a wonderful holiday experience of staying in a period property yet offers modern living accommodation. As you enter the cottage the size and warmth of the dual aspect living room reveals itself with a variety of seating opportunities, ideal for watching the TV or sitting in front of the wood burner. Also on the ground floor is a lovely kitchen and dining room where you can either enjoy breakfast or an evening meal sat around the farmhouse table. Arranged over the first floor are the three bedrooms starting with the character master bedroom set to the front of the cottage with a kingsize bed, wooden flooring storage space and a feature fireplace. The second bedroom is also a character room again with a feature fireplace. The parking for this cottage is either at the front on the pavement street parking to the side road with gate access to the garden or across the road opposite the cottage in a public car park.
Located on the west of the beautiful Roseland Peninsula a few miles north of St Mawes, St Just-in-Roesland. It is a verdant village of manicured gardens and pretty cottages leading down to the woodlands and creeks by the Percuil River. The village is best known for the 13th century church of St Just the Martyr. Overlooking St Just Pool, a tree lined creek, the church is set in an amphitheatre like graveyard filled with an array of colourful sub-tropical plants and shrubs, a botanical project started over 100 years ago.
Nearby you can explore the D-Day embarkation points at Turnaware Bar and nearby the recently renovated Smugglers Cottage part of the Tregothnan Estate. It is also is one of the best spots in the area for a cream tea! The walks around Messack Point on the north side of St Just in Roseland Creek offer some of the finest views across the Carrick Roads. Few places in Cornwall can compare with the Roseland Peninsula, one of the most picturesque and unspoilt parts of the British Isles. Lovely beaches and cliffs delightful rivers and countryside pretty villages and hamlets all make the Roseland the perfect holiday setting. There are many beaches such as Towan, Porthkirnick, Pendower and Portholland to explore along with the vast array of walks.

The Bothy (CWC575120) is a semi-detached, listed cottage, nestled alongside the main farmhouse, with two bedrooms it is an ideal size for a small family yet not too big for a couple, the terrace is private and protected, you are bound to have pheasants wandering in front of the living room windows while you are kept cosy by the wood burning stove. At the same time, you can sit in the deep window seats watching yachts and ships pass by on the horizon. Lavender Cottage (CWC575149 was once the estate’s potting shed and is an oasis of calm. The private patio is a suntrap and overlooks the walled garden, the living room has a cosy fire and TV and excellent broadband, the kitchen is bright and airy and has French doors that open onto the patio. Upstairs is a cosy little bedroom and a bathroom. Overall, the cottage has plenty of character and charm; if you are after a romantic break, this is the perfect little cottage in the perfect location. Place Lodge (CWC575150) has traditional tall leaded windows; the living room is bright and airy and oozes character. There is a Victorian fireplace to warm up those chilly winter evenings, a spacious kitchen/dining room with an ornamental kitchen range and farmhouse table. There is also a shower room on the ground floor. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs, a 5’ double, a twin bedroom, and a family bathroom and outside, to the rear, is a sunny sheltered patio.
Place Barton is located high on a ridge on St Anthony Headland and is part of the Place Estate, this is the perfect place to escape from reality there are few better places to enjoy the true beauty of the idyllic Roseland Peninsula. Surrounded by rolling rural landscapes, stunning walks with the best views of St Mawes, Place House, Pendennis Castle, Falmouth and the Carrick Roads. Explore St Anthony Head and the Lighthouse, famously used as the base for the TV series Fraggle Rock and also Molunan Beaches which are right by the lighthouse. As a bonus you can take the car down a private lane to within a couple of hundred yards of the beach, closer if you bring a 4x4, and are confident of its off-roading capability. Old School House is on the edge of the quiet village of Gerrans adjacent to the village green and has great views over the bay to Nare Head & Gull Rock. The cottage, though recently built, has been traditionally designed with beams, box frame windows and has loads of character including a cosy open fireplace in the sitting room. It is a very comfortable place to stay with the benefit of a great, west facing secure courtyard garden to the rear.
It is just a short walk to the villages of Gerrans and neighbouring Portscatho. Portscatho and its neighbouring village of Gerrans are located on the eastern coast of the Roseland Peninsula, Cornwall, overlooking the dramatic Gerrans Bay. A truly peaceful waterside village, Portscatho is a lovely place for a holiday. A short walk down the hill in Portscatho, you can find great sandy beaches, clear waters and loads of rock pools for the kids to explore. Beautiful views along the Cornish coast greet visitors to this single-storey, light and spacious property. The property features a split level, open plan living and dining area, each with bi-fold doors opening out onto patio areas, affording stunning sea views, with gardens front and back. The house is tastefully furnished and comfortable all year round with a wood burner and central heating. Standing on the headland above the picturesque village of Port Gaverne, the house is a few steps from the north Cornwall coastal path. The beach at Port Gaverne is a 6-7 minute walk away and a little further is Port Isaac, with its huddle of slate houses and narrow alleyways.
The state-of-the-art kitchen is great for catering and cooking the fresh local produce. There are two excellent fish shops in Port Isaac that sell their daily catch of fish and shellfish; specialities are crab and lobster.
Local lamb, beef and pork are all available at the nearby farm shop, which has wonderful views overlooking the sea.
Famous now as the setting for the TV series ’Doc Martin’, Port Isaac is a working fishing village with shops, bars and several top-quality restaurants.
This area is now renowned as a ’foodie paradise’, with several celebrity chefs located here and the area is very well served by a whole variety of dining places to fit every pocket.
Close by is a hotel and next door is a bistro, which has indoor and outdoor dining. There are two Michelin starred restaurants in Port Isaac run by Nathan Outlaw. Nearby in Padstow is Paul Ainsworth’s Michelin starred restaurant and he has a great pub too. Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant and Cookery School are in Padstow. Rick Stein also has a number of other restaurants with varying price ranges.
This is an ideal spot for those who enjoy coastal walks, bird watching, golf, fishing, surfing, sailing, kayaking, cycling or just lazing on the beach. Polzeath’s famous surf attracts all comers, and its glorious sandy beach is just a short drive away. The cliffs, caves and rock pools are a children’s paradise.
Within an easy drive are Padstow, Tintagel, Boscastle, Bude and Wadebridge.
Wadebridge hosts one end of the Camel Trail, with a 5-mile dedicated cycle ride to Padstow on the old railway track, alongside the picturesque Camel Estuary. To the north stands Tintagel’s medieval castle and the quaint fishing village of Boscastle, with Crackington Haven and Bude a little further on. Inland lies Jamaica Inn and Bodmin Moor, the setting for the ’Poldark’ stories.
A few minutes’ walk away is a water sports centre, Cornish Rock Tors, based on the beach at Port Gaverne. They offer kayaking, paddle boarding and coasteering for individuals and groups. Polzeath’s famous surf attracts all comers, and its glorious sandy beach is just a short drive away. Water sports can be enjoyed at Rock, from where a passenger ferry crosses the Camel Estuary to the town of Padstow. Daymer Bay has another glorious sandy beach, and the golf course at St Enodoc is open to the public. John Betjeman, the late Poet Laureate, is buried at St Enodoc Church, with its twisted spire.

The beach is just a 5-minute walk away from the garden gate. Off the drive, there is a lawned area and to the side of the house a heated outdoor shower for when you return from the beach. The equipment store has a range of children’s wetsuits and storage for boards. Once cleaned off, you can luxuriate in the state-of-the-art Aspen and Spruce spa with a sauna, experiential shower plus cold water bucket for the brave. Situated mid-way between Padstow and Newquay, Mawgan Porth offers you a beautiful west facing beach, stunning scenery, wondrous walks, superb surfing, an amazing variety of restaurants to suit everyone’s taste and pocket, including a cosy pub, seafood restaurant, cafés, and takeaways all within walking distance of Blue Seas. Newhaven is a beautifully presented, dog friendly, bungalow with a terraced garden, and a large deck and is ideal for a family with young children, the twin bedroom is pirate themed and there are a wealth of novel garden ornaments including a lobster pot and "smugglers den," a child’s playhouse. The dining conservatory creates an al fresco ambience of dining under the stars but remains cosy with underfloor heating, and winter evenings will be toasty warm in the dual aspect kitchen/living room with the lovely slate fireplace surrounding the wood burner.
Trebarwith Strand Beach is close by and at low tide a large expanse of golden sand is exposed, with plenty of rock pools and a number of caves, just be careful to always check the tide times. Tintagel is well worth a visit, cross the new suspension bridge to Tintagel Castle and Island where medieval fortifications combine a history of the dark ages with the legend of King Arthur to produce a wonderful day out with many different eateries and pubs to sample as a bonus. The coast path stretches along some of the most rugged cliffs in the southwest, where majestic promontories overlook secluded beaches with golden sands and crashing Atlantic surf. A quick drive will also take you to Boscastle, site of the infamous floods in 2004, or the traditional fishing village of Port Isaac where lovely narrow lanes lead to the charming harbour and beach that Port Isaac is so famous for.
