There are a number of delightful little galleries showcasing the work of various Cornish artists. The local public house is nestled in The Square and serves local ales and good pub grub all year round. Rosevine beach is dog friendly throughout the year and is just to the east of the village. It has beautiful golden sands and is over looked by the increasingly famous Hidden Hut. It is a verdant village of manicured gardens and pretty cottages leading down to the woodlands and creeks by the Percuil River. The village is best known for the 13th century church of St Just the Martyr. Overlooking St Just Pool, a tree lined creek, the church is set in an amphitheatre like graveyard filled with an array of colourful sub-tropical plants and shrubs, a botanical project started over 100 years ago.
    Nearby you can explore the D-Day embarkation points at Turnaware Bar and nearby the recently renovated Smugglers Cottage part of the Tregothnan Estate. It is also is one of the best spots in the area for a cream tea! The walks around Messack Point on the north side of St Just in Roseland Creek offer some of the finest views across the Carrick Roads. Set to the rear of the property is the master bedroom with dual aspect windows to the garden and the all important kingsize bed. To the front of the cottage is spacious double and twin bedrooms finished to a complimentary style. Across the hall is a large family bathroom with a separate bath and corner shower. Staying on the ground floor to the opposite end of the cottage is a further modern shower room with a walk-in shower.     Above Portscatho lies the village of Gerrans, only a 5-minute walk up the hill. The mediaeval church, that stands opposite, has served as an invaluable landmark to generations of local fishermen. Take the cliff path north out of Portscatho and in under 20 minutes you’ll be standing on the beautiful Porthcurnick beach. At low tide Porthcurnick has acres of flat sand perfect for games of cricket, but you might have to wade out a bit to get a decent swim! Further east still are Carne beach and Pendower beach which at low tide join to form an even bigger expanse of sand where dogs are allowed all year round. Beach 150 yards.
