- Bude, EnglandFairview (CWC561946) is a reverse level, semi-detached cottage with an entrance on the first floor and a large living/dining room, a cosy wood-burning stove, there is a west-facing conservatory down a couple of steps with sofa and access to a small private garden. A family bedroom on the first floor provides a level living area for those with a mobility issue. On the ground floor are further bedrooms and a family bathroom. Barn Cottage (CWC562587) is also a reverse level, semi-detached cottage with two bedrooms on the ground floor.
This is a real farm experience, fresh free-range eggs are available from the owners, and there are a number of walks across the delightful 150 acres. This is a dog-friendly property however please note that it is a working Beef and Sheep farm, so dogs must be kept under control.
Further along the coast is Sandymouth, a large beach ideal for families due to its lovely sand, rock pools and tea rooms. A short drive north over the border into Devon leads to the quaint village of Hartland which has a magnificent church with an amazing painted ceiling and one of the tallest towers in England. Hartland Quay has a hotel and Wreckers Bar as the coast here is littered with wrecks and is a lovely spot for some lunch. Also well worth a visit is the world-famous fishing village of Clovelly. The cobbled, traffic-free, high street is built into a cleft in a 400’ high cliff and tumbles its way down past whitewashed cottages festooned with flowers to the tiny working port. Beach 2 miles.

The open plan living space has an elegant, yet homely feel. The main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and the second bedroom also has an en-suite which is also accessed from the hallway.
Situated just north of Bude with fabulous access to all of the glorious beaches including Northcott Mouth beach and Sandymouth a bit further to the north, both of which have glorious expanses of golden sand at low tide. Bude itself has a wealth of restaurants, pubs, cafés, and galleries, a great playground and interesting canal. Further north and you are over the border into Devon where Clovelly is well worth a visit. The property adjoins another house, although the garden and driveway shown in the photos is exclusive to Skyber Barnacott.
The closest village to Skyber Barnacott is Kilkhampton which dates back to before Saxon times. There you can find the remains of a 12th century motte and bailey style Norman castle. This superb conversion has been completed to the highest of standards and features reverse style Accommodation with open plan living space on the first floor to take advantage of the character of the old beams and the stunning views over the countryside to Widemouth. The Owners have converted Roof Tops with great attention to detail with wood flooring and granite work tops in the kitchen and en-suite shower rooms for both bedrooms. There is a cosy gas wood burner for the colder months. There is a great patio and a private garden area with a small lawned area. Both bedrooms have French doors opening onto the slate tiled patio.
Roof Tops is situated on the edge of the village of Stratton, a peaceful location with countryside all around. Stratton has two local pubs serving excellent food and a post office, all within a 5-minute walk. The village is just over 1 mile from the coastal town of Bude with extensive sandy beaches, sea swimming pool, leisure centre, surfing and a wide variety of shops, pubs and restaurants. There is also a range of golf courses in the vicinity. Stratton is a great base from which to explore many of Cornwall and Devon’s attractions.
Bude is Cornwall’s most northern town and has been a favourite seaside resort since Victorian times. The town has excellent facilities and a wide selection of interesting, independent shops.
