    Close to the old fishing villages of Kingsand and Cawsand on the Rame peninsula, and the unspoilt beaches of Whitsand Bay. Kingsand and Cawsand go hand in hand and are located in the south east corner of Cornwall. Each are pretty coastal villages and both have lovely sandy beaches. Whitsand Bay also has a sandy beach and this one is over three miles long, ideal for a romantic stroll listening to the waves.
    This area of Devon and Cornwall is ideal for water sports such as paddleboarding and kayaking and keen golfers can practice their swing at Portwrinkle golf course.
    The Torpoint ferry is 15 minutes’ drive, where you can sail cross the River Tamar into the city of Plymouth and visit ’Drake’s Hoe’ or the Barbican where the Pilgrim Fathers set sail for America. Other attractions in Plymouth include the National Marine Aquarium and makes an interesting day out. An ideal holiday base for exploring the south coasts of both Devon and Cornwall. The Gannel is a firm favourite with birdwatchers, kayakers and windsurfers and a perfect place for a walk with the dogs and a picnic.
    Newquay with its surfing culture is within 4 miles and guests can enjoy discounted surf hire and lessons. Try your hand at this exhilarating sport with local surf coaches. Horse riding, deep sea fishing trips, kayaking and sightseeing trips are all available in and around Newquay. The famous Fistral Beach provides everything you need for that quintessential ingredient of any beach holiday, crabbing and rock pooling, followed by a beach barbecue as the sun sets out to sea. Just a few miles up the coast you will find Watergate Bay, home to a watersports centre, plus a mile of golden sand backed by dramatic cliffs that make this area so unique.
    Further along the coast road will bring you to Padstow, home to the gastronomic empire of Rick Stein including his fish and chip shop, where you have to get there early to avoid the queues. Padstow, with its quaint working harbour and narrow cobbled streets that all gravitate back the harbour, are awash with craft and gift shops, galleries and cafés and a real must for all that visit the area. The Camel Trail starts here and bike hire is plentiful at the start. The Eden project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, St Ives, Port Isaac, home to TV’s ’Doc Martin’, Fowey, and Truro, the county capital are all easily reached from Trescowthick and are all a must to enjoy the diverse aspects of this historic county. There is also a cosy snug room so children or adults can watch their favourite programmes without disturbing the rest of the household. Downstairs are five beautifully appointed, spacious bedrooms, two have en-suite shower rooms and a family bathroom, this property is perfect for larger groups.
    Lanxton Barn is situated just outside the quiet hamlet of Coad’s Green, a few miles east of Bodmin Moor and with excellent access to both coasts, the A30 and also the stunning Tamar Valley. This rural location has very little light pollution and you can while away warm summer evenings gazing up at the stars above. There are dozens of excellent walks with Bodmin moor, the Tamar Valley and the north coast beaches all within easy reach. This is a working 100 acre farm so any dogs would have to be supervised and walked on leads if any animals are in the fields. At the top of the farm is the site of a hill fort with panoramic views stretching as far as Dartmoor. The farm has its own free range chickens and ducks with lovely farm fresh eggs available. Nearby are bluebell woods with wild orchids and there is single bank fishing available during the season. Lanxton Barn is situated on a working farm, with a local independent shop 3 miles away (not open late). For main shops Launceston is 7 miles away, but most grocery stores offer delivery.
