Saint Austell, EnglandSet just 50 yards from the east-facing sandy beach of Gorran Haven, this cosy family cottage has been renovated in 2022 and includes new electric radiators, a modern, well-equipped kitchen and a shower room with a large shower cubicle with rainfall shower and hand held shower, and accommodates up to 6 guests. The outhouse serves as a bike store and also includes a second fridge/freezer. It is one of four converted from a pair of Victorian dwellings and makes an ideal destination for a traditional seaside holiday.
Adjacent to the South Cornwall Coastal Path, which leads to some of the most awe-inspiring cliff and beach walks in Cornwall, and the work of the National Trust allows visitors easy access to the headland. Picturesque Mevagissey, the Georgian harbour of Charlestown, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Eden Project and Caerhay’s Castle are all within easy driving distance. Saint Austell, EnglandThese two single-storey barns (refs 29635 and 29636) have been converted from an old grain mill and stores. Cosy and warm in the winter and cool and airy in the summer the grain stores provide a well equipped home from home. Alongside a variety of board games and books, there’s a large collection of DVDs to enjoy on the 50" TVs. There’s a sunny south-facing garden, with a hideaway den with day bed, in which to enjoy an afternoon snooze. With no light pollution, there’s ample opportunity for star-gazing the dark skies.
Little Polgrain Barns are in the heart of the Roseland Peninsula, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It’s a walker’s paradise, with flower-filled lanes giving way to stunning coastal scenery. A stroll along the lane beings you to the hamlet of Portholland, a pretty cove with a history of smuggling. The pubs at St Ewe and Tregony are local family and dog friendly pubs, within a few miles radius. Unspoilt sandy beaches, ancient fishing harbours, tiny art galleries, great seaside cafes and pubs makes this a place with something for everyone. The cafe in nearby Portscatho offers feast nights throughout the summer. Kayaking, horse riding, cycling and sailing are all close at hand.

Many of the plants were originally shipped from China in the 19th century. The Lost Gardens of Heligan is a short drive away, there visitors can spend all day wandering through the walled gardens, jungle valley and enjoy watching the heritage breeds at the South West’s first Rare Breed Farm Park. The Eden Project is also nearby, it’s famous biomes nestle in a reclaimed china clay pit. This amazing complex has a huge indoor rainforest, full of exotic planting, waterfalls and treetop walkways. It’s an ecological hub, with themed seasonal events and provides a spectacular setting for their regular music festival, the Eden Sessions. Charlestown, a regular location for ’Poldark’, is a few miles away in St Austell. It has a shipwreck centre and offers trips on its famous tall ships.

Bude, EnglandThis historic, spacious, terraced, 500-year-old former church house sits peacefully beside the village green and war memorial, in front of the 12th-century Norman church of St Andrews. The house has been lovingly restored and retains many original features.
The large living room and dining area, with its 16th-century ceiling beams, are great for a family gathering, or a cosy night in beside the wood burner. There is a small part-covered, shady, internal courtyard room with a flagstone floor, fountain, window seat and small outdoor table and chairs.
All 4 double bedrooms have either cupboard or hanging rack space for clothes/storage. The second floor bedroom runs the length of the cottage and has huge, original 16th-century A-frame roof beams and three, heritage Velux-style windows. Removable blackout blinds are available for guests who wish to use them.
The cottage is just a few steps from the village post office, shop and an excellent hair salon. Just beyond that are the two village pubs, The Tree Inn and The Kings Arms.
Jalna is the perfect coastal holiday choice close to the Victorian seaside town of Bude with its glorious sandy beaches and breath-taking South West coastal path scenery. It is the ideal escape venue in which to spend time with friends and family.
Bude is incredibly popular all year round, with its castle heritage centre, a vibrant town centre and an array of restaurants and bars, together with two sandy beaches and the nearby coastal path. It retains its Victorian charm whilst offering something for everyone. The food scene around Stratton and Bude has really taken off. There are regular food markets and artisan pop-ups in addition to the array of restaurants, bakeries and wine merchants.
The Bude and North Cornwall Golf Club is close by. Paddle boarding, surfing, golf, tennis, horse riding and fishing are all on offer in the area. The internationally acclaimed annual jazz festival is fantastic and not to be missed. The Splash leisure centre, with an indoor swimming pool and ten-pin bowling alley, is a short drive away.
Widemouth Bay is only 3 miles further down the coast and has a stunning beach. The picturesque fishing villages of Rock and Padstow are within easy driving distance, as is the mysterious Tintagel Castle of Arthurian legend. The wild beauty of Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor are all easily reached, as is the famous Eden Project. For family fun, the Big Sheep and Milky Way adventure parks are not to be missed.
