The city of Plymouth is just 18 miles and is home to the award-winning National Marine Aquarium. Our mild winters ensure that many plants are able to thrive in Cornwall. The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project are both within 25 miles. There are many historic houses to visit close by including Cotehele, Lanhydrock and Antony. Liskeard sports a leisure centre with swimming pool, squash, indoor bowling, badminton and fitness suite. From Liskeard train station you can take the lovely branch line which runs down to Looe through the wooded East Looe Valley. Nearby Siblyback Lake offers windsurfing, dinghy sailing, canoeing and fishing. Mount Edgcumbe Park with its 800 acres of parkland located on the Tamar estuary is also well worth a visit. Liskeard, EnglandSet in the gently undulating foothills of Bodmin Moor, Rosecraddoc Manor boasts a history that dates back to the Domesday Book. Rebuilt in the 1820s it is Grade II listed, together with the two bridges in the grounds – one of which forms part of the entrance drive. The manor house and coach house have been converted into apartments, all furnished and equipped to a very high standard, with many luxurious touches that will appeal to the most discerning of visitors. Access to the front door of the Manor is by three stone steps. Some of the accommodation features four poster beds, some offer spa baths and some offer saunas.
Heron is a first floor studio-style apartment, whilst Riverview and Riverbank enjoy a secluded position on the banks of the small cascading river, with pretty aspects across the river and parkland towards the lake – these two cottages include special features to make them suitable for wheelchair users.
Lakeview stands about 75 yards from the manor, in an enviable position overlooking the fishing lake, and enjoys particularly beautiful views from its first floor living room and large balcony.
Rosecraddoc Manor is surrounded by 35 acres of natural gardens and bluebell woods that beckon to you to stroll along its footpaths. The lake is well stocked for coarse fishing, with carp, roach and bream, and the all weather tennis court can be enjoyed April – October. There are several pubs locally.

Lostwithiel, EnglandA welcoming Cornish cream tea awaits guests at this 100-year-old cottage that sits in a quiet and quaint lane minutes from the centre of the ancient town of Lostwithiel, which lies at the bottom of a wooded valley. Lostwithiel lays claim to being the centre of the county’s antique industry and slow food movement, and with its collection of antique shops, fine dining restaurants and award-winning pubs, its easy to see why. The town sits on the River Fowey and boasts its own Norman castle, Restormel Castle National Trust, as well as craft shops, deli’s and local bakers all providing the local feeling that the town is renowned for. The seafaring town of Fowey with its literary heritage is approximately 8 miles by road but less by river. The small pretty village of Lerryn nearby, also perched on the river, was the inspiration for ‘The Wind in The Willows’ and a walk along the riverbank is a must. The Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan and numerous National Trust properties and gardens are also close by and provide lovely days out in this special area of Cornwall. Lanhydrock House, a National Trust stately home and estate is nearby and boasts off road walking and cycle trail through lush woodland, bike hire and a café are available.
