The Little House is just yards from the ‘Mineral Tramways Trail’, one of Cornwall’s many cycle networks that links the north coast at Portreath to the South coast near Falmouth. It is popular with walkers, cyclists, horse riders and sightseers as it passes through a rich mining heritage area, dotted with old mine archaeology. A cycle hire centre, shop and café are approximately 1 mile from the front door, right on the trail itself. The world famous Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Lizard Peninsula, which is the location of Lizard Point and the most southerly point of the country, are all easily accessible from the property. The ancient seafaring town of Falmouth is approx 6 miles away, and provides an excellent centre for many activities such as sailing, windsurfing, pleasure trips and diving. Other amenities available locally are fine sandy beaches, shopping, cinema, restaurants and Pendennis Castle, perched high on Pendennis Point. Falmouth is also home to the National Maritime Museum, two yacht marinas and numerous National Trust gardens. A ferry to the Roseland Peninsula and a sightseeing trip along the River Fal to Truro are also available from one of the town quays.
