    If you want to pop into the Farm Market in nearby St Buryan you will be able to pick up locally sourced produce, if you want to try the local fish and seafood head to Newlyn. There is so much to do in the area explore the area where Poldark was filmed, visit the Tregeseal Stone Circle, Ross Wheal Leisure, and the Crown Mines below Bottalack. You can walk from St Just to Cape Cornwall, or follow the route Porth Nanven to Nanquidno, explore the beautiful coves and beaches, and watch the sunset at Sennen.     Stone Farm Cottage is a beautifully presented granite cottage with rolling rural views derelict tin mine engine houses dot the landscape and there are magnificent sea views from the top of the garden. A small stream trickles through the garden and there is access to a shared (with the owners) covered swimming pool which is heated and available from the beginning of June until the beginning of September.
    Inside is a stylishly decorated, open plan living space with doors leading to the garden, original beams, and a cosy wood burner to warm you up after a day exploring the dramatic coastal scenery or checking out the surf. The well-equipped kitchen area is a joy to cook in, why not take you holiday feast outside and dine al fresco or fire up the BBQ on a beautiful summer evening. To one side of the living space is the master bedroom with kingsize bed and en-suite wet room.     Bojewyan is a small settlement to the east of Pendeen which is famous for its industrial heritage. Pendeen village has a general store and Post office and there are four local pubs serving food. Three of these, as well as a takeaway fish and chip shop and a Spanish tapas restaurant, are all within a 2-minute drive or a 10-minute walk from the property.
    The St Just area has a rich mining history and has now been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is also in one of the twelve Cornish Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Pendeen Lighthouse and the secluded Portheras Cove and beach are a mile to the north. The coastline in this part of Cornwall is simply outstanding and the road from St Ives to St Just is possibly the most scenic drive in the county. Beach 1¾ miles.

You don’t need to go far as you have a variety of shops including a supermarket, a gallery, tea rooms and cafés, plus three pubs, as well as a free public car park in the village. You can leave the car and catch the local buses; you may find this easier in peak summer as you won’t have to worry about parking!
    The property has stunning sea views at the front of the property, and at the rear is a private courtyard which leads to the parking area. On the first floor are three bedrooms and the family bathroom with rainfall shower, whilst downstairs the living room again has a cosy wood burner and also boasts sea views. The large dining area leads to a well-equipped modern kitchen with access to the private garden. For those not wanting to eat out, you will find everything you need to rustle up a homely meal - you just need to decide if you want to eat al fresco or sit around the large table.
    This is an ideal location to explore the rugged coastline of Cape Cornwall. The coastal paths and walks have remnants of the tin mining that was produced in the area. Geever Tin Mine in Pendeen is 2¾ miles away, well worth a visit, and is surrounded by fantastic scenery and coastal walks. Whilst you are here you can also visit the Pendeen Lighthouse. Just over 6 miles away is Land’s End, which is a brilliant day out for all ages. It’s the most westerly point of the UK and home to the famous signpost, John O’ Groats to Land’s End. Dogs on leads are welcome here, but not allowed in the indoor attractions. Five miles away is Sennen Cove, popular with families as the beach has a gentle slope and rock pools as well as being the most westerly point for surfers. It has a seasonal dog ban, but around the corner is Gwynver Beach which is dog friendly and much quieter. Just over 8 miles away is the stunning beach of Porthcurno, with turquoise water and white sand surrounded by cliffs making this one of the most beautiful beaches. Suitable for surfers and experienced swimmers only, due to the steep shelving, and not suitable for people with mobility issues since the trek down to the beach is accessed along a coastal path which is steep. If you are a fan of the TV series ‘Poldark’ you will be familiar with the landscapes, as there is a lot of history in the area including folk tales of witches at Kenidjack and piskies leading mortals astray. There is so much to do walking, surfing, cycling, water sports and pony trekking, if you play golf bring your clubs and have a game Cape Cornwall golf course a mile down the lane. Artists are drawn to the area throughout the year, and you will find local galleries and studios in the area. Whatever you choose to do, come back to Haford and either curl up in front of the wood burner or sit outside watching the amazing skies while you plan your adventures for the next day.     There are two pubs in the village, a post office as well as a chip shop and store. On the first and second Saturday of the month you can purchase fresh fish and local produce from the farmers’ market. Pendeen is full of industrial history, situated within the Lands’ End peninsula World Heritage Site and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Discover the history of the Cornish Miners at Geevor or Levant tin mines (featured in BBC ‘Poldark’ series), explore the atmospheric engine houses at Botllack and Crowns engine houses. There is an old arsenic works huddled at the base of dramatic cliffs, as well as ancient sites such as Carn Kenidjack to wander around.
    Most people come to Cornwall for the beaches, and you won’t be disappointed, choose from long stretches of golden sand to small, sheltered coves. The nearest is Portheras Cove between Pendeen and Morvah, only accessible by walking. If you want to surf, check the latest surf reports for the best beaches. A mile from Pendeen is the Pendeen Lighthouse, a great place to start a coastal walk from, other options would be to walk from Geevor Tin Mine, Levant Mine, discover Cape Cornwall, St Just and Penzance.
    For gardeners Trengwainton Garden in Madron is a must to visit, exotic trees and shrubs make this a magical place to explore. Whatever your budget there is plenty to do and see in the area, good bus routes allow you to visit towns such as Hayle, St Ives and Penzance.
