Standing of the banks of the River Weaver and Shropshire Union Canal, Nantwich is a medieval market town with a cool modern edge. Whilst meandering around the atmospheric pedestrianised centre you’ll see historic timbered buildings housing lots of little independent shops, pubs and cafés that accommodate most tastes. The traditional indoor market hall is open three times a week, and in the summer the town centre really comes alive with floral displays throughout the streets and the town square festooned with bunting. Quite uniquely there’s a heated outdoor Brine Pool (May-Sep) and the town also plays host to many events throughout the year, including the legendary Jazz, Blues and Music Festival at Easter and the world-famous International Cheese Awards in July. For some local tastes Nantwich is also home to Sungburys Award Winning Ice Cream Farm and Chatwins Bakery which was established in the town over one hundred years ago.
Outside of Nantwich nearby Audlem (15 minutes) offers a range of shops that attract many visitors, or you can cross the border into Shropshire and visit Whitchurch and the beautiful countryside that surrounds it. A little further afield is the county town Shrewsbury, or magnificent cities of both Chester and Manchester which can be reached in around an hour’s drive or by train from Nantwich station which is just 0.5 miles away. For those who like to explore the great outdoors you can pick up the Sandstone Trail in nearby Tarporley, visit the castles of Beeston and Cholmondeley or head to Delamere Forest all of which can be reached in around 30 minutes. With the North Wales coastline also just an hour away you really are spoilt for choice.

The old market town of Malpas, which is actually classed as a large village, is under 2 miles away, and has plenty of shops and other amenities. Malpas is home to a Norman motte and bailey castle and consists of half-timbered ancient buildings, a Grade I listed church and Cholmondeley Castle. The property is ideally placed for visiting Chester, North Wales and Shropshire and is within easy reach of a plethora of activities. The historic walled city of Chester has much to offer including Chester racecourse and Chester Zoo, as well as excellent shopping and restaurants. Tarporley, the Delamere Forest and Beeston Castle are also nearby. Llangollen in North Wales is also a great place to explore, with its horse drawn canal barges, steam railway, Pontcysyllte Aqueduct which you can canoe over, and white water activities such as rafting, tubing and gorge walking, slightly further afield is Snowdonia National Park. Best of all is the huge range of walks and cycling routes directly from the doorstep.

The living room features a 4-seat sofa, foot stool and Freeview TV with direct access to front and rear patio areas, there is also a separate toilet. Sandbach is a historic and charming town that can be found in wonderful South Cheshire. It offers all the best requisites of modern living with shops, bars and restaurants catering for most tastes. Day Green Barns is in close proximity to the M6 motorway, which makes it an ideal location for easy access to attractions throughout Cheshire, and the surrounding counties. The surrounding area boasts a wide range of attractions including the National Trusts sites, equestrian venues such as Somerford park, numerous walks in locations such as the peak district and Delamere Forest.

Drift House is well located for events at Bolesworth Castle including Car Fest North and the International Horse Show. For anyone looking to explore the area on bike, the Sandstone Ridge provides quiet lanes over rolling hills with great café and lunch spots to break up your route, and off road trails are found at Delamere, and Llandegla Mountain Biking centre for the more adventurous riders.
