It has recently been refurbished with new double glazing and a wonderful modern kitchen. The nearby coast path follows the cliff tops to the picturesque fishing hamlet of Boscastle and onto the legendary seat of King Arthur at Tintagel’s ruined castle. With many pubs, restaurants and leisure activities in the area this is both the perfect family holiday location and base for touring the splendid Cornish coastline. Tintagel is 4 miles away with King Arthur’s castle clinging to the cliff top. The quaint fishing villages of Padstow, famous for TV chef Rick Stein’s restaurant, Boscastle and Port Isaac are a must. Port Isaac is also famously known as Portwenn, thanks to the long running TV series ‘Doc Martin’.
The nearby South-West Coastal Path passes through some of the most dramatic scenery of its route.
Away from the coast, explore the beauty of Bodmin Moor, a vast moorland peppered with fascinating granite Tors. The Bodmin and Wenford Steam Railway chugs along for 6 miles and back and will delight children of all ages including steam train enthusiasts.
Alternatively the disused railway track now known as the Camel Trail cycle and footpath is within easy reach and stretches for 18 miles from Padstow to Wenford Bridge via Wadebridge and Bodmin. Shop 0.75 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

There are miles of sandy beaches popular with surfers and swimmers, and excellent golf courses north and south of the estuary. A supermarket and petrol station are only 1.25 miles away. Head slightly south to Gwithian and the famous lighthouse at Godrevy sits proudly on its rocky outcrop. The area attracts seals, dolphins, basking sharks and is a great spot for bird watchers, with the wide estuary at Hayle and marshes at nearby Marazion. Take the scenic coastal train from St Erth into St Ives, home of the Tate St Ives and Barbara Hepworth Museum. Here you will find a great choice of restaurants, bars, cafés and art galleries. Set off on a surfing expedition to Newquay’s nearby world famous Fistral Beach or Watergate Bay known for enjoying incredible waves all year round, with surf schools here to teach beginners all they need to know!
