Exmouth is the place for water sports, and nearby Crealy Park is a great day out for the family. Exeter is a short train ride along the estuary with cathedral and shops, or you can take a trip to Dartmoor, where you will find heather-clad tors and Dartmoor ponies. Take a ferry to Starcross and stroll to Powderham Castle. Stop off at Beer, with caves and a beach; visit Branscombe and Sidmouth with shopping and promenade; or visit Seaton, where you can take a tram ride through the countryside. Close by, there are afternoon river cruises on the Exe Estuary with views of Starcross, Powderham Castle, Topsham, Lympstone and the wildlife, or take a visit to ‘World of Country Life’. Sidmouth’s 18-hole golf course is close by. There are also many National Trust properties close by. Try to get a visit to A la Ronde. Beach just over 1 mile. There is so much to do, whether you are taking a family holiday or a short break away. Take a trip to Dartmoor with its ponies, tors and pubs tucked away in the countryside. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything needed to prepare a home cooked meal and there’s also a handy utility area leading off it. The rear garden has an attractive patio area with garden furniture, ideal for al fresco dining or for enjoying your morning coffee in the sun.
    The first floor is divided into two with a separate staircase to access each area. Bedrooms three and four are accessed by a staircase from the kitchen. Bedroom four is accessed through bedroom three and has an en-suite bathroom with separate shower, large corner bath and toilet. Bedroom three and four are zip and link and can be made into twin beds.
    The principal staircase rises from the main entrance hallway and leads to the other part of the house where you will discover the family bathroom and bedrooms one and two, each having a kingsize bed, although bedroom two can be set up with 2ft 6in twin beds if requested. The accommodation is therefore very flexible and suitable for groups of different sizes and composition.
    Set in the heart of the picturesque Devon town of Budleigh Salterton and just 200 metres from the beach, and about the same distance to the town centre where you can find a wide range of shops including pubs, restaurant, tea rooms and grocery stores. Budleigh is a beautiful, unspoilt holiday destination located on the Jurassic Coast, which is a World Heritage Site and part of the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. For all-terrain mountain biking, head to Woodbury Common (also a great location for birdwatchers!) During your stay be sure to visit the neighbouring towns of Beer, Sidmouth, Exmouth and Seaton. Access by car is easy to Eggesford Forest (10 miles towards Exeter), with the local country pub just a bit further along the A377 where you can have lunch before a walk in the woods. If you like a round of golf, more locally is Libbaton Golf Club at High Bickington, just 3 miles away, where anyone can have a game along with a beer or two and a meal.

    The Woodshed is the former timber store to Buckland Mill, which was converted into its current incarnation in 2019 by the current owners. It is in a beautifully peaceful and private forest clearing which after a short drive through it gloriously comes into sight! There is ample parking available to the front of the barn and as you enter you are greeted by the characterful open plan living room with plenty of seating and a cosy wood burner. The beautiful beech and copper staircase, with wood sourced from the woodland, leads to the first floor and two lovely bedrooms comprising a double and a kingsize, both with quality, modern en-suite shower rooms. Back downstairs, the dining area and modern, well-equipped kitchen are both framed by a lovely, exposed stone wall. The whole of the ground floor also benefits from underfloor heating.
    Heading out from the kitchen, there is a warm tiled hallway which is perfect for keeping your outdoor accessories and walking boots and there’s access to a separate toilet and a handy enclosed courtyard area with a dog shower. The hallway can also double up as a peaceful retreat where you can sit and relax. Outside, you can enjoy roaming the vast 25 acres of pasture and woodland where domestic sheep and wild deer can sometimes be seen grazing. The grouinds boast an amazing varierty of birdlife including owls, woodpeckers, pheasants, Canada geese, moorhens and indeed everything from the smallest of finches to large birds of prey. Mr Fox is also a frequent visitor! Solitude is plentiful - you can simply relax just up a few steps in the private lawned area, or if you are feeling more sociable, sit by the firepit with a drink in hand. Should you be the ‘energetic sort’, there is a pétanque piste, which will inevitably require a healthy supply of wine to appreciate the ambience! The property has 25 acres (approximately 50% pasture land and 50% woodland) which guests are welcome to roam on. The small lawn behind the barn is the only private area though. The rest is shared with the owner when they are present next door and there is a public right of way through the forest.
    The Woodshed is approximately 7 miles from Great Torrington and 14 miles south of the port town of Bideford and just 20 miles from the Cornish coastal town of Bude to the West.
