As you enter the property through the front floor, you will find yourself in between the kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped with all you could need to rustle up a good meal, and the dining area next door benefits from a large dining table and additional fridge/freezer. A door from the kitchen leads into the spacious utility room, and another door leads onto the low maintenance and sunny rear courtyard garden.     Being set in Shaldon itself, many properties are very difficult to park at and even manoeuvring through the lanes can be difficult at the best of times. However, the property is located just one road away from the town and an off-road parking space directly outside is a real added bonus. This is a great location for those looking to stay in Shaldon and enjoy the fantastic beach and nearby restaursnts or for exploring the nearby town of Teignmouth, the English Riviera (made up of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham) or even to travel slightly further afield to the well known Dartmouth and Salcombe. A well-known local brewery is 1.7 miles away, and accessible via a public footpath. If you fancy a round of golf, the Teignmouth Golf Course is just 1 mile away. Withymead is close to many of the regions popular tourist attractions and local beaches. Exeter and the English Riviera are a short drive away, and this property is ideal if you are a keen walker, with the South West Coastal Path and Dartmoor also nearby.

    Harp House is a deceptively spacious property situated right in the heart of the popular seaside village of Shaldon. With a vast array of restaurants, pubs, fantastic butchers, bakeries, and local pharmacies. Not to mention it is just a short walk to the beach! As you enter the property in the ground floor entrance hallway there is a very handy utility space housing the washing machine, a great place to hang up coats and store shoes. Upstairs to the first floor is where the bright and airy living room is located with its floor-to-ceiling windows with beautiful shutters. These large windows lead out onto a front-facing balcony (Disclaimer: The balcony has a low-height wrought iron balustrade railing so guests should use it at their own risk). The kitchen/diner is opposite the living area which is fully equipped with a wide variety of appliances for guests to use. This area then leads out onto the small courtyard area with its bench and dining table seating. (Although 1 medium or 2 small dogs are permitted, guests are asked to not allow their pet to use the garden area to ‘do their business’) On this floor, there is also a toilet and one of the four bedrooms contains a single bed. Upstairs to the second floor is where the remaining bedrooms are located. One of the bedrooms contains a king-size bed with wardrobes and a chest of drawers for guests to store their belongings away in. There is another bedroom with a double bed and en-suite shower room and lastly one more bedroom with a single bed. The family bathroom is also on the second floor and has a bath with a shower above.
    Harp House is situated in a fantastic location for not only exploring the beach and everything that Shaldon has to offer but also for accessing popular areas of Torquay such as Babbacombe and Wellswood. The towns of Paignton and Brixham in addition to Torquay make up the English Riviera. Across Shaldon bridge in the opposite direction is Teignmouth and easy access to the city of Exeter.
    The property is also a good base for enjoying the Shaldon Regatta, which is a festival that is over 200 years old. The regatta is for all ages, and it encourages people of all abilities to take part in a safe environment to enjoy the river and sea safely. There is a huge number of events throughout the regatta, both on and off the water for teams as well as individuals. The pillow fight on a slippery pole on the last Monday of the regatta always draws the crowds!

    The Woodshed is the former timber store to Buckland Mill, which was converted into its current incarnation in 2019 by the current owners. It is in a beautifully peaceful and private forest clearing which after a short drive through it gloriously comes into sight! There is ample parking available to the front of the barn and as you enter you are greeted by the characterful open plan living room with plenty of seating and a cosy wood burner. The beautiful beech and copper staircase, with wood sourced from the woodland, leads to the first floor and two lovely bedrooms comprising a double and a kingsize, both with quality, modern en-suite shower rooms. Back downstairs, the dining area and modern, well-equipped kitchen are both framed by a lovely, exposed stone wall. The whole of the ground floor also benefits from underfloor heating.
    Heading out from the kitchen, there is a warm tiled hallway which is perfect for keeping your outdoor accessories and walking boots and there’s access to a separate toilet and a handy enclosed courtyard area with a dog shower. The hallway can also double up as a peaceful retreat where you can sit and relax. Outside, you can enjoy roaming the vast 25 acres of pasture and woodland where domestic sheep and wild deer can sometimes be seen grazing. The grouinds boast an amazing varierty of birdlife including owls, woodpeckers, pheasants, Canada geese, moorhens and indeed everything from the smallest of finches to large birds of prey. Mr Fox is also a frequent visitor! Solitude is plentiful - you can simply relax just up a few steps in the private lawned area, or if you are feeling more sociable, sit by the firepit with a drink in hand. Should you be the ‘energetic sort’, there is a pétanque piste, which will inevitably require a healthy supply of wine to appreciate the ambience! The property has 25 acres (approximately 50% pasture land and 50% woodland) which guests are welcome to roam on. The small lawn behind the barn is the only private area though. The rest is shared with the owner when they are present next door and there is a public right of way through the forest.
    The Woodshed is approximately 7 miles from Great Torrington and 14 miles south of the port town of Bideford and just 20 miles from the Cornish coastal town of Bude to the West.
