Dorset Heavy Horse Farm is a wonderful family day out where you can feed the animals or enjoy a ride in a horse drawn carriage. You can visit Moors Valley Park where there are tree top walkways, or you can cycle around the woodlands. Within a 10-minute drive you have Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre, The Tank Museum,Clouds Hill (the rural retreat of T.E Lawrence, better known as Lawrence of Arabia), Thomas Hardy’s Cottage, Sculpture by the Lakes and Athelhampton House and Gardens. A 20-minute drive will take you to the world famous Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove, or inland to Dorchester with its museum and Duchy village of Poundbury.
