Welcome to Violet Bay, this stunning fisherman’s cottage located a short walk from the famous golden sand beach of Weymouth is the perfect place for the family to stay and enjoy their holiday in Weymouth. This recently refurbished property has been completed to a high standard with furniture to match. Entering the property you will notice the living room with the electric log burner, Smart TV, comfy sofa, and a single sofa bed. The dining room is at the rear of the property where there is bench seating for up to six guests, French doors open on to the rear garden which is the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening under the stars.
The kitchen is well equipped with electric oven, microwave-oven, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, and coffee machine. Upstairs both bedrooms sleep 2 with bedroom one with a King size bed and bedrooms two with a twin bed with a zip-link mattress. The bathroom is at the rear of the property where a small step takes you down in a bathroom with shower over bath, toilet, basin, and Heated towel rail. Outside you will also find the utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also an outside toilet. A short walk from violet bay you will be welcomed to the beautiful sites of Weymouth harbour, this once famous fishing harbour is now home to many pleasure boats, small ferries, and many water sport activities for you all to enjoy.
If you are looking for a relaxing day down at the water’s edge you will find plenty of local bars, restaurants, and takeaways to enjoy all day and night. The Weymouth Beach which is positioned in the heart of The World-Famous Jurassic Coast is the perfect bay to enjoy a swim or time with a book on the beach. For the walkers among us, The Jurassic Coastline has plenty of trail walks, make sure you take in the sites of Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove, you do not want to forget the camera for this trip.
Closer to the property, Portland is a 10-minute drive, which is home of the 2012 Olympic Sailing Academy, Chesil beach, the renowned Portland Bill Lighthouse plus many more. The market town of Dorchester is approx. 20-minute drive, here you will find local markets, museums, restaurants, and bars. Further afield you can take a trip to the Historic Tank Museum or have a day roaming around Monkey World.

Recently refurbished in 2022 to a high standard, this is the perfect holiday for the whole family to relax. Entering via a porch way for muddy shoes and coats, the living room is well equipped with comfy sofas, a Smart TV and an electric wood burner. Rear French doors lead you into the back garden where you can relax after a long day exploring. The kitchen is well equipped and the dining room is located next to the kitchen where you can enjoy a morning coffee or a family meal. Upstairs via the unique spiral staircase there are three bedrooms - a master bedroom with kingsize bed and en-suite shower room, a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. The family bathroom offers a shower over bath, basin and toilet.
Farnham is a small village with a pub a short walk away, and Larmer Tree Gardens is only a short drive away, well worth a visit to wander around the beautiful gardens. You can also visit the National Trust sites of Kingston Lacy House, Hod Hill and the White Mill. Dorset Heavy Horse Farm is a wonderful family day out where you can feed the animals or enjoy a ride in a horse drawn carriage. You can visit Moors Valley Park where there are tree top walkways, or you can cycle around the woodlands. One place you will not want to miss is the walks along the Jurassic Coastline taking in sites such as Lulworth Cove and Durdle door, located approximately 1 hour from the property. Beach 20 miles. Located in Chideock, between Bridport and West Bay to the east and Lyme Regis to the west, this holiday home is the main part of the owners’ detached house with an adjoining self-contained annexe for the owners use. It is ideally situated for enjoying and exploring west Dorset and the famous scenic World Heritage Jurassic Coast, and has a large, enclosed, lawned garden with a patio overlooking fields and footpaths towards Seatown. Wander over the fields to the coast at Seatown and enjoy some superb scenic coastal walking up to the top of Golden Cap the highest point in the south of England. Lyme Regis offers a great day or two out, with its picturesque harbour, sandy beach and famous Cob, where you can pass the time fossil hunting, boating, fishing, swimming, walking, exploring the quaint character shops, or simply wining and dining. Inland perhaps enjoy a cream tea at the Broadwindsor Craft Centre, or travel further afield to south Somerset and visit historic Forde Abbey and Gardens. The historic rope-making town of Bridport with its twice weekly market is a gateway town to the Jurassic Coast, England’s only natural World Heritage Site. Sweet Briar (ref 8234) and Buzzards (ref 8235, first floor) are in the east wing of an old country house and Farthings (ref 19292) is in the west. Many badgers have made their sets in the hill behind, and there is an abundance of wildlife. Perfect for relaxing or more invigorating walking holiday in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which includes extensive National Trust land. Chesil Beach, one of the finest barrier beaches, begins at West Bay. Lyme Regis with its Cobb and the famous fossil beach at Charmouth are close by. Not far away is the ancient town of Dorchester with its Iron Age hill fort and Roman town house and many other sites of historic interest. In a lovely, very rural location on the edge of the quiet village of Fifehead Magdalen near Shaftesbury and Gillingham, this detached Grade II listed converted barn in local Marnhull stone is set in its own private grounds adjoining the owners’ Grade II listed farmhouse. This good quality conversion was originally for the owners’ own occupation. There are splendid uninterrupted views from the living room and garden over Duncliffe Wood, Melbury Beacon and the Blackmore Vale, and many walks straight from your doorstep. Enter into a spacious hallway with ample storage for coats and boots. The double bedroom features a ceiling fan and a walk-in wardrobe, also boasting ample storage. The property has a large, private lawned garden with shrubs and a flower bed, perfect for relaxing in after a day explore.

Shaftesbury, with its famous Gold Hill and character shops, and Sherborne, with its abbeys, castle and restaurants, are delightful places to visit. There are many attractions within easy driving including Stourhead House and Gardens, Kingston Lacy, a day out at Longleat House and Safari Park, Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum, the Haynes Motor Museum with its fascinating selection of classic cars, racing at Wincanton and Salisbury and Wells with their wonderful cathedrals. Locally you can enjoy some great country walking or simply relax and wine and dine in some of the local village pubs. Alternatively just stay in (by the wood burning stove in the winter or out on the patio in the summer) and enjoy this rural idyll. The village is constructed almost completely from the local grey Purbeck limestone and around the village square there are a small collection of shops clustered together. The UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coastline is a short drive away, with the famous Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there is an abundance of wildlife to be found locally; footpaths and bridleways, making it a perfect location for exploring deep into the Dorset countryside. There is good access across Eggardon Hill to the World Heritage coastline at Burton Bradstock or to the harbour and beaches of West Bay.
