Visit the seaside town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea, just a short drive away and boasting the oldest water balanced, funicular cliff tramway in Great Britain alongside great restaurants and beaches.

The village of Loftus has good amenities, including three pubs, a Gin palace with micro-brewery, local grocery shops, bakery and an award winning bookshop stocking plenty of local authors and gifts. In the ‘Iron Valley’ of Skinningrove you’ll find secluded beaches and The Tom Leonard Mining Museum.

Enjoy the fishing port of Whitby, with its winding cobbled streets, famous abbey and wonderful fish and chips, or explore the spectacular coastline and dramatic North York Moors. The area surrounding this Yorkshire cottage offers a wealth of attractions including the steam railway at Grosmont, the pretty market towns of Pickering and Helmsley and stately homes and gardens such as Castle Howard. Mill Cottage has been updated to give a truly retro feel both in design and furnishings, with bright and comfortable interiors. The vast 3000-acre grounds are at your disposal, wander down through the estate and admire the imposing stately home of Broughton Hall itself, spot wildlife and birds as well as quaint bridges across the river. Within the estate are the Land Rover Experience offices from where experience days are offered (by direct arrangement with the owner) for an exhilarating drive along the land rover track and obstacles on the estate.
The popular market town of Skipton is 3 miles away and offers a host of things to do for all ages. The Tour de France and the Tour de Yorkshire have both passed through Skipton and the surrounding countryside in recent years. Why not bring your bike and explore some of the routes for yourself? The area is peppered with gourmet pubs serving local produce as well as hearty, traditional pub food and there is a wide variety of restaurants and bars in Skipton to choose from should you wish to treat yourself and dine out during your stay. Two sets of bi-fold doors provide access to a covered patio area and flood the room with natural light. An understairs cupboard provides space for storage and a WC completes the ground floor accommodation.
Take the stairs to the first floor and you will find two stunning and spacious bedrooms, a kingsize double and a double room with traditional bunk beds. Both bedrooms offer the ’wow’ factor with vaulted ceilings and full height cathedral windows which open up to provide access to a full length, south facing balcony with lovely views across the holiday park. Here you can sit and enjoy an early morning coffee or perhaps a relaxing glass of wine after a busy day.

Outside of the house is a covered patio area with a table and chairs and a brick-built BBQ; a real sun trap which can be accessed from the open plan living area. A peaceful and secluded spot to sit and relax (not enclosed). This holiday home welcomes dogs and there are miles of dog-friendly beaches to explore and also a meadow for them to enjoy.
The Bay has many facilities to make your stay enjoyable including a coffee shop, convenience store, pharmacy, and the John Paul Jones family pub and restaurant. It is an ideal location with everything you need in the village, but the countryside right on your doorstep, with the Pennine Way and Settle Carlisle Railway both a short walk away and the river 100 yards away for picnics. Sycamore Cottage was originally a barn, dating from the heyday of the lead mining industry. It has been furnished to create a homely atmosphere and is the ideal property in which to kick back and relax. The charming garden is enclosed and provides a small lawn and a nice eating area, as well as a higher patio area with lovely views. Situated just a couple of minutes’ walk from the centre of Grassington, it is on the Dales Way and so well placed for both long hill walking and easier riverside walking straight from the door.
Take advantage of Grassington’s wide selection of pubs, restaurants and cafés, together with interesting independent shops, or in the local town hall, you can play snooker or badminton. A little further afield lies the bustling market town of Skipton, where you can enjoy canal cruises, golf, or the indoor swimming pool. Although there are no great views from inside the property, the secluded and cosy interior, large communal kitchen, and great village location with parking for two cars, more than compensates. As well as an abundance of wildlife including lapwing, curlew and red grouse which you are sure to encounter. Castleton is a typical, rural Yorkshire village with sandstone buildings which have been standing for centuries surrounded by the vast moorland of the North York National Park. You have a couple of friendly local pubs serving great home cooked meals, as well as a village convenience store, a little tea-room and a train station where the glorious Esk Valley line will take you to the coastal town of Whitby, stopping at scenic villages along the way.

The moors, footpaths and cycle tracks are on your doorstep, or visit the Georgian market town of Stokesley where the partly cobbled streets are lined with inns, tea rooms and a mix of shops. Explore the Heritage Coast and sandy beaches of Yorkshire, with seaside towns such as Saltburn, Whitby and Scarborough within easy reach, and fishing villages including Staithes, Runswick Bay and Robin Hood’s Bay. In the heart of the small village of Beningbrough, this delightful barn conversion, attached to the owners’ home, has been converted to provide character and charm with its stone and oak floors, original exposed beams and a country style kitchen with an electric oven and hob. French doors from the living room lead to a Mediterranean style garden with a dining area, perfect for dining al fresco and lazy summer days, whilst cooler evenings can be enjoyed curled up by the wood-burner, making this an ideal year-round holiday location. A scenic stroll along the riverside leads to Beningbrough Hall, a Baroque mansion with portraits from the National Portrait Gallery, a glorious walled garden, ancient trees and hidden wildlife. The farm shop and café sells home reared and local produce, and serves home cooked meals. The neighbouring village of Newton-on-Ouse, 2miles, has two popular pubs. The historic city of York is 7 miles away from the cottage, and is easily accessible from the Rawcliffe park and ride. Visitors can enjoy the world renowned sights including the iconic minster, Clifford’s Tower and the National Railway Museum. The cobbled streets are lined with ancient buildings, museums, art galleries and quaint traditional tea shops. The surrounding area offers numerous interesting days out. Visit the elegant spa town of Harrogate, the World Heritage Site at Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal, or drive out to the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors. Charming walks by the river and surrounding fields start from the doorstep and the Route 65 cycle road is located at the end of the lane. Bicycles can be stored in the owner’s garage, by pre-arrangement. The River Ouse is part of the cottage garden and is only 300 yards away from the back door, where guests to enjoy freshwater fishing free of charge, no licence is required. Fishing is possible from the steep banks, in a mowed area by the swing, or from any un-mowed areas within the boundary of The Landings Cottage (please note that it is a steep banking and not a wading river).
