As well as having the characterful fishing villages of Lybster, Helmsdale and Brora close by, the town of Wick is not far away and John O’Groats a little further with dramatic Duncansby Head well worth a visit. The drive across to Cape Wrath is sublime, and the off-the-beaten road via Altnaharra or Kinbrace is a true Highland highlight.

This luxury detached barn is adjacent to the owner’s home and is ideally located for accessing all that Uckfield and surrounding areas have to offer.
The Barn is set in a peaceful location with parking for two cars. As soon as you enter the barn and step down into the open-plan living space you instantly relax. The décor, lighting, stonework and marble features are throughout The Barn and feel very opulent. On the ground floor you have a well-equipped kitchen, open plan with the living room and dining room. There is dining for four, a TV and sumptuous seating. There is a door leading out to the private garden area with seating for four. Back inside The Barn, the family bathroom has a walk-in shower and is located next to the ground floor master bedroom. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed, high-quality linens and storage space. In the main living space there is a staircase leading to the second bedroom. This bedroom features two zip-lock beds which when joined together make a super kingsize bed.

You might be going to the opera at Glyndebourne or visiting Lewes Castle and Museum. You might have spent the day exploring High Rocks, a 3¼-hectare geological site of special scientific interest west of Tunbridge Wells. If you want to take in the Sussex countryside by train, then the Bluebell Steam Railway is a must, or take The Lavender Line at Isfield station for a two-mile round trip between the village of Isfield and Worth Holt. There are some great houses to visit in the area. Anne of Cleves House is less than 5 miles away, and historic Charleston House and Firle Place are less than 20 minutes away. There are lots of trails and countryside to explore either by foot or bike and after a day of seeing all that the area has to offer you get to head back to the tranquillity of The Barn at Lower Morgans House and relax the day away.

The property is only a 10-minute drive from Hailsham town which has a variety of supermarkets in addition to other shops and amenities. Battle is also 10 minutes away in the other direction with its range of cafes, restaurants, and shops. The stylish lounge enjoys a wood burner and a Smart TV, with views of the English Channel around 4 miles distant. The bedroom boasts an oak-framed bed with bedside tables and a wardrobe to match. The deep mattress can be turned to provide a warm or a cool night’s sleep. Situated in the Weald with easy access to Herstmonceux, Battle, Pevensey, Eastbourne, and Hastings. A short drive to the seaside and many castles to visit. Herstmonceux Castle is just a walk away. The excellent local pub is a few yards away and serves food daily. It is popular due to its award-winning nature, so it is recommended to book in advance. A local coffee shop in Herstmonceux is a firm favourite with visitors and locals alike. Lovely countryside walks including the South Downs National Park and the 1066 Country Walk (which passes right by the property). Walkers are wonderfully well catered for, with the property situated on the 1066 Country Walk. Pevensey Castle is a good morning’s walk away, across Pevensey Marshes, while towards the North East, The Ash - a highly recommended pub for great food is under a 2-hour walk, through peaceful, rolling Sussex countryside. The Cowshed is situated adjacent to bus stops for service, generally running hourly through the day (Monday to Saturday) between Hastings and Eastbourne.

Lavender House is a rustic cottage with a luxury modern interior. Located in the East Sussex village of Ewhurst Green with stunning views from inside and out, private parking and within walking distance to the pub. This is a fantastic period cottage with modern features! The rooms are bright and airy, and feature all the mod-cons you could need with all the charms of an old cottage. There are three large double bedrooms, two of which are kings. There is one large family bathroom with a bath and shower and a separate shower room. There is also a ground-floor cloakroom toilet. Downstairs has a wonderful open plan space with a living room, dining room and kitchen. The fully fitted kitchen has everything you would need for a very comfortable stay including a washer/dryer, dishwasher and Krupps bean-to-cup coffee machine, there is a large fridge, small freezer and wine fridge. Enjoy creating some fantastic holiday feasts for all the family to enjoy! Ewhurst Green is a beautiful sleepy village, and many footpaths can be accessed directly from the house. Enjoy water sports (kayaking and paddle boarding, along with rowing boats) down at Bodiam Boating Station, about a 5-minute drive away. The picturesque and romantic medieval Bodiam Castle was built in 1385 and has an original moat, towers and portcullis, and beautiful landscaping. The tea room overlooking the River Rother is a perfect spot to stop for a refreshment.
Lavender House is approximately 12 miles north of Hastings, with a great seafront and a selection of seafood restaurants. It is 20 miles from the prestigious Royal Tunbridge Wells, where you can experience the culture, beautiful scenery, and independent shops. Ideally situated to several National Trust properties including Sissinghurst Castle and Batemans. Less than 10 miles away is Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest, a perfect spot for walkers, and cyclists or to explore the treetops at Go Ape Bedgebury. Tenterden has a great little high street with antique shops, and close by is the Kent and Sussex steam railway going from Bodiam to Tenterden.
