    Moray Cottage is an excellent base in the far north of Scotland, on the edge of historic Wick. The attractive cottage is over a 100 years old, and has been in the same family for the entire time. Upon entering the property you have a spacious hallway with dining room off to the right, living room and conservatory to the left, kitchen at the back of the house and a bathroom and toilet also downstairs. Upstairs there are two double rooms, one with a king-size, a twin room and another bathroom. The garden is really large and wraps around the entire house. It’s enclosed, so both children and dogs can play at will. There are seating areas outside, as well as a summer house.
    It enjoys a rural aspect on the edge of the town, so you get the best of both worlds: close to Wick’s amenities but with a countryside situation. Moray Cottage will suit a family wanting to explore the far north of Scotland. It’s an excellent base from which to explore John O’Groats, Duncansby Head, Orkney and both the north east and north coasts using the NC500. There’s so much to see and do, you’ll be out and about seeing something new every day. And at the end of long days out exploring, Moray Cottage is an excellent place to return to rest and recharge.     The cosy living room with its feature open fireplace forms the heart of the accommodation when days are cooler. The fully fitted kitchen is well equipped for a longer stay and there is a family bathroom with a shower fitted above the bath and a separate toilet. There are four bedrooms in total. Bedroom one and bedroom two are double bedrooms. Bedroom three is a double bedroom set with fantastic views across the South Downs. There is an additional single bedroom available for flexible sleeping arrangements, however we recommend Spring Harbour for a maximum of six guests. As Spring Harbour is in a rural location you will need a car to get the most out of your stay or a taxi to get to restaurants train stations or shops. There is ample parking on the driveway. The gardens offer privacy and of course completely uninterrupted views towards the South Downs.
    Spring Harbour sits in splendid isolation on the edge of the small village of High Hurstwood between the market towns of Crowborough and Uckfield in East Sussex. It is perfect for enjoying the rolling countryside of the High Weald with no shortage of local attractions or places of interest to visit practically on the doorstep. Brighton Eastbourne Lewes Hastings and Alfriston are an easy day trip. Half an hour away Royal Tunbridge Wells is a great shopping and dining destination and if you are planning a trip to London this is the easiest commute. There are ample public footpaths and cycle routes to explore and an exhaustive supply of excellent country pubs to visit. Nearby Ashdown Forest covers 14,000 acres of lowland heathland that has never been cultivated and offers extensive opportunities for walking. It was famously Henry VIII’s hunting ground - but is also a must for all Winnie the Pooh fans. The adjacent village of Hartfield was home to A. A. Milne. The view from Spring Harbour draws your eye to the South Downs and Firle Beacon towards Birling Gap on the coast. Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters Country Park are within a 30-minute drive and will always make an excellent day out. Shop 2 miles, restaurant 4 miles and pub 12 miles.

There are three large double bedrooms, two of which are kings. There is one large family bathroom with a bath and shower and a separate shower room. There is also a ground-floor cloakroom toilet. Enjoy creating some fantastic holiday feasts for all the family to enjoy! Ewhurst Green is a beautiful sleepy village, and many footpaths can be accessed directly from the house. Enjoy water sports (kayaking and paddle boarding, along with rowing boats) down at Bodiam Boating Station, about a 5-minute drive away. The picturesque and romantic medieval Bodiam Castle was built in 1385 and has an original moat, towers and portcullis, and beautiful landscaping. The tea room overlooking the River Rother is a perfect spot to stop for a refreshment.
    Lavender House is approximately 12 miles north of Hastings, with a great seafront and a selection of seafood restaurants. It is 20 miles from the prestigious Royal Tunbridge Wells, where you can experience the culture, beautiful scenery, and independent shops. Ideally situated to several National Trust properties including Sissinghurst Castle and Batemans. Less than 10 miles away is Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest, a perfect spot for walkers, and cyclists or to explore the treetops at Go Ape Bedgebury. Tenterden has a great little high street with antique shops, and close by is the Kent and Sussex steam railway going from Bodiam to Tenterden. For wine lovers, the award-winning vineyard Chapel Down is also within a half-hour drive. Pub 150 yards. Beach 12½ miles.
