Perfectly located in Menston, just outside of the picturesque market town Ilkley, Brookleigh Farm Cottage provides beautifully presented luxury accommodation combined with charm and character. Nestled at the bottom of a tree-lined country lane, guests may spot racehorses, who are trained nearby, while relaxing in the pretty private garden. Inside, the cottage has been lovingly refurbished to an extremely high standard with vintage wooden and porcelain flooring throughout.
Situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this a perfect retreat for walkers, cyclists and ramblers, with plenty of walks, cycle paths, bridleways and established footpaths into picturesque countryside. Dating back to Roman times, Menston is on the ancient Roman Road that linked York with the garrison at Ribchester. Nowadays you will find the village dotted with a selection of local shops and country pub. Nearby you will find the picturesque market town of Ilkley with an abundance of restaurants, pubs, pavement cafés and independent shops that can all be easily reached; as can legendary Bettys Cafe Tea Rooms where afternoon tea is a must. Harewood House, just 15 minutes away, is a fantastic day out offering impressive art collections, a magnificent rare bird garden and 100 acres of exquisite gardens to explore. For Emmerdale fans, you’ll also find the Set deep within the grounds of the estate.
Bolton Abbey can be reached in around a 20-minute drive and offers 30,000 acres of beautiful countryside to explore. The charming market town of Skipton, also 20 minutes away, is home to an ancient castle, cobbled high street and colourful street market. Leeds city centre can be reached in just 20 minutes from the local train station where you can enjoy luxury shopping and sip rooftop cocktails at Harvey Nichols. Haworth village, once home to the Brontë Sisters, is another major tourist attraction in the area and can be reached in around a 30-minute drive. York can be reached in an hour and for those looking further afield, the Lake District National Park is within a 2 hour drive.

Flossy’s View offers a truly immersive escape from modern life and is a beautifully hand-crafted shepherd’s hut providing the very essence of luxury and feels more like stepping into a boutique hotel with its dark walls and lavish interior. Nestled into the hillside, soak up the stunning views that this unique landscape has to offer; an indulgent and memorable break for two. The hut is named after ‘Flossy’ the dog that was given to Anne Brontë by the family for whom she served as governess, and is ideally situated, surrounded by fields and countryside views enjoying direct access onto the ‘Pennine Way’ and many famous walks including The Brontë Way, Millennium Way, The Railway Children Trail, Top Withens’ and Brontë Falls.
Inside the hut, you are greeted by an open-plan design oozing luxury adorned with antique treasures incorporating the living space with a cosy log-burner, a comfy kingsize bed with storage and a fully fitted kitchen and dining area. An oak door leads to a family bathroom benefitting from a shower and wall-mounted heated towel rail. While away the evening enjoying freshly cooked pizza on the wood-fired pizza oven, toasting marshmallows on the Kadai firepit or soaking in the beautiful ‘Hikki’ hot tub while stargazing at the night sky with only the comforting sound of sheep or owls calling to break the silence. When sleep calls, sink into the luxurious kingsize bed with Egyptian cotton bed linen and rest your head and recharge ready to explore all that this outstanding area has to offer the next day. Be sure to visit the nearby village of Haworth, home of the famous Brontë sisters and the inspiration for many of their famous novels; Haworth is an undisputed literary mecca, attracting visitors from all around the world. With its historic cobbled Main Street, iconic Brontë Parsonage and rolling moors, the picturesque proportions of this Airedale village exude a vintage charm that makes you feel you’ve stepped into another era. There are also a wide variety of quaint eateries and pubs for refuelling before leaving the village and exploring the lonely moors beyond where the Brontë sisters found their inspiration. Further afield, such gems as Malham Cove, Ingleton Waterfalls, or the bustling market town of Skipton await and are sure not to disappoint. Both shepherd huts can be booked together to accommodate up to 4 guests.

Originally three cottages and now one luxury holiday home, Weavers Cottage is ideal for families and friends to enjoy relaxed gatherings or special celebrations. The spacious open plan kitchen/dining/bar area is the heart of the house and perfect for entertaining with the large oak dining table seating up to twelve.
On the first-floor guests will find a master bedroom with kingsize bed, en-suite bathroom with large freestanding bath and also a dressing room with an additional single bed. Along the corridor you will find two further bedrooms and a shared bathroom. The second floor has two bedrooms with vaulted ceilings, galleried chill-out areas with TV and games consoles. One of these bedrooms is made up with twin beds that can be zipped to make a kingsize on request, the other has twin singles. There is also a further bathroom with full bath and shower. The garden will be a firm favourite with guests, with space for children to play and adults to relax. It has its own private hot tub to soak in, timber framed outdoor cooking area with pizza oven and BBQ for al fresco dining. After a scenic walk, leave your boots in the handy boot room, with plenty of hooks for wet coats and towels for muddy paws.
Weavers Cottage is nestled between the idyllic villages of Slaithwaite and Marsden and set back from the picturesque Huddersfield Narrow Canal. Both villages can be easily reached on foot or bicycle along the canal directly from the property. With an easy 20 min walk you can enjoy the numerous café’s, bars and local shops, including some excellent artisan bakeries for that special breakfast treat. Just a short walk through adjacent fields will bring you to the Olive Branch Inn with its relaxed atmosphere, fine dining and outdoor seating to take in the beautiful views. The property is burrowed amidst the National Trust Marsden Moor Estate; guests will be spoilt for choice with more than 5000 acres to explore. Whether you prefer to explore the landscape on foot, by bike or through the lens of a camera there are plenty of things to see and do. The rugged landscape and steep climbs are the perfect challenge for keen mountain bikers, while others might prefer to wander alongside the water’s edge of the canal and retrace ancient packhorse trails to Standedge Tunnel with it’s fascinating Visitor Centre – where you can learn about the longest, highest and deepest canal tunnel in Britain. Marsden Train station can be reached on foot or just a few minutes drive away and offers easy access to Manchester (36mins) and Leeds (45mins) for that Big City vibe.

Situated in the very centre of the Calderdale market town of Todmorden is this beautifully presented property. Accessed via a short narrow lane a stone’s throw from Todmorden train station. As soon as you step through the gate you won’t be disappointed. You enter the property via the enclosed courtyard which catches the sun well into the evening, and into a wonderful sunroom. You’ll immediately find the property is jam packed full of character with each and every room stylishly decorated with a blend of beautifully coordinated colours and furnishings. The open plan living and dining space overlooks Todmorden’s’ open market on the main high street, and in the bathroom pride of place is a beautiful slipper bath. The access and steep narrow stairs mean the property isn’t suited to those with reduced mobility, however its central location and vicinity to the train station means it’s perfect for those wanting to give their cars a rest.
Within Todmorden town centre is a fine selection of restaurants, cafes, pubs and independent shops, together with the afore mentioned market for your shopping pleasure! Loved by outdoor enthusiasts you can spend the day walking along the Rochdale Canal or taking a hike along the Pennine Way to the Stoodley Pike Monument. Just under 5 miles (or a 7-minute train journey) is the popular destination of quirky Hebden Bridge which is also home to National Trusts Hardcastle Craggs.
From Hebden Bridge a scenic drive over the moors takes you to Haworth where the splendid Parsonage Museum commemorates the famous Bronte family who lived there. With the Peak District National Park to the south, the Yorkshire Dales National Park to the north and direct train links to both Leeds and Manchester you can be assured that there’s something to keep you busy and entertained throughout your whole trip. In under an hour, you can be in Harrogate, York, Chatsworth, or Sheffield. Beneath the quiet exterior of country living beats a heart of choral tradition, cycling and rambling for nature lovers, coffee shops and fascinating places to visit.

If walking is your thing, Penistone Hill and the surrounding countryside are stunning walks in all seasons, winter being our favourite! Travelling further afield you will also find St. Ives Estate, Bingley, Altar Rock, Five Rise Locks, Cliffe Castle, Harlow Carr at Harrogate, East Riddlesden Hall, and on our very own doorstep The keighley & Worth Valley Railway, and the Bronte Parsonage Museum. Located just off the centre of Penistone is Spring Cottage on The Green, where you are a short 8-minute walk from the town’s local amenities which include restaurants, pubs and shops.
After a fun packed day exploring, retreat home to Spring Cottage where there is an open-plan living room and kitchen on the ground floor. It has all the essentials required to cook up a delicious meal, then relax and unwind on the comfortable sofa with the electric wood burner creating a cosy atmosphere, with a projector to watch your favourite shows. Upstairs there are two bedrooms made up of a double and a twin, and a family bathroom. To the front of the house is a small garden area with a bistro set, perfect for al fresco dining, or enjoying a morning coffee. There is parking available in the driveway across from the property and ample roadside space also.
Penistone is surrounded by beautiful and historic countryside, there are both easy and challenging walks, or if you want to make a full day of it then walk the Cal-Der-Went, which links the River Derwent to the River Calder and crosses three counties.

This traditional two bedroom cottage is situated on the edge of the Peak District National Park only 5 minutes drive from the centre of Holmfirth and 20-minute walk. The property enjoys an elevated position with beautiful views across the Holme Valley, fields and woodland areas. Inside there are two bedrooms, a double bedroom and Kingsize bedroom with single sofa bed; a cosy living/dining room with modern day touches such as Wi-fi and Smart TV; kitchen and storeroom. Outside the property has off road parking for two cars on the driveway; a generous sized garden with patio area where you can simply relax and unwind.
Holmfirth and the surrounding areas are home to some of the most beautiful scenery in the Yorkshire Pennines and most recognisable as the location for the record breaking ’Last of the Summer Wine’ TV series. Exploring the picturesque town you’ll discover a wide range of amenities, shops, bars, restaurants as well as the renowned live music venue The Picturedrome. There are miles of open countryside, public footpaths, reservoir walks to explore for walking enthusiasts and cycling enthusiasts can recreate routes from the Tour de France 2014 and the Tour de Yorkshire; Wine enthusiasts can visit Holmfirth Vineyard for tasting and afternoon tea.
Being located on the edge of the Peak District National Park means there’s ample walking and cycling opportunities with miles of open countryside to explore. Additional attractions within reach, include the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and the Hepworth Gallery which is a 30-minute drive away and several heritage properties including Nostell Priory, National Trust, located 45 minutes’ away, Salts Mill, Bronte Parsonage and Harewood House which are all 1-hour drive. For pampering, the Titanic Spa in Huddersfield is just 20 minutes’ away. For children, Canon Hall Farm offers extensive animals, together with a farm shop and café. Finally, the cities of York, Leeds, Manchester, and Sheffield are all roughly an hour’s car journey. There really is something for everyone!
