In a lovely quiet location, Goleufryn is split over three buildings grouped around a pretty garden, just on the outskirts of Abersoch on the Llyn Peninsula, and has distant sea views. The main house sleeps ten and has a spacious living room with a dining room and full kitchen where everybody can gather together. There are walks from the door, and the pretty village of Abersoch is a short distance away, providing a range of shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants. There are three beaches to choose from too, the long sandy Warren Beach, small and sheltered Porth Bach, and sandy Porth Ceiriad including backed by high cliffs. There’s also the surfers favourite at nearby Hell’s Mouth. Abersoch itself is well-known as one of the most popular sailing venues in North Wales, but it also makes an ideal base for exploring the area. Visit the lovely National Trust owned beach at Llanbedrog with its multi-coloured beach huts, and call in to see the ever-changing art exhibitions at Plas Glyn-y-Weddw. Take a trip from Aberdaron to visit Bardsey Island off the tip of the Llyn Peninsula, or take a trip into the Snowdonia National Park on the Welsh Highland Railway, visit the quirky Italianate village of Portmeirion, or conquer mighty Caernarfon Castle, built by Edward I and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The National Trust interactive visitor centre in Aberdaron promotes the many attractions of the Llŷn Peninsula, such as the ancient church of St Hywyn’s in Aberdaron which was the last stopping-off point for pilgrims at Bardsey Island, to the Wales Coastal Path for wonderful walks and nature spotting, ideal for those outdoor lovers. Close by are the bustling popular resorts of Abersoch and Pwllheli, there are miles of wonderful beaches to explore with a vast array of water sports on offer across the Llŷn Peninsula.
Just under 3 miles away is Porthor beach known for its whistling sands; the sound is created due to the unique texture and size of the sand particles. There are only two beaches in the whole of Europe where you can experience this for yourselves, and you’ll have one just down the road. The Llŷn Peninsula is an unspoilt, designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with miles of coastal and mountain walks to explore. There is wildlife in abundance, pods of dolphins, seals, and birdlife to spot. You’ll be truly captivated by a visit in this region.

Jack’s House in the coastal town of Tywyn is perfect for any time of year, with a patio with seating and a barbecue for the warmer evenings. The kitchen is equipped with all modern conveniences including a coffee machine and an American-style fridge/freezer, and with seven bedrooms in total, three with en-suite facilities, and a further bathroom and a shower room, all with their own walk-in shower.

Why not take the Wales Coast Path north, over the Dysynni river and towards the ruins of the old army camp in Tonfannau. A short drive east along the winding Bro Dysynni Valley will take you to the imposing and majestic Craig yr Aderyn (Bird Rock) and the silence and tranquility of Castell y Bere castle. Or you can take the Talyllyn Railway steam train from Tywyn to Abergynolwyn, and explore the many paths and ridges of this quiet, spectacular corner of Wales.If you don’t want to travel by car or public transport, it’s possible to walk to nearby Aberdyfi along the sandy beach. You will find a bustling, chocolate-box pretty harbour village. Also within easy walking distance is Ynysmaengwyn park and woodland, the site of a ruined mansion. Jack’s House is also only 30 miles from Snowdonia National Park.

Venture just a little further and you have Pwllheli, Criccieth and Porthmadog, home to the Welsh Highland Railway.
