Also accessible for alternative days out are the Lake District, the Trough of Bowland and of course, all of the glorious scenery of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
    The village of Malham, 7 miles, is worth a visit with amazing natural spectacles including Malham Cove, Gordale Scar and Janet’s Foss. Ilkley is 14 miles away, and is famous for its Cow and Calf Rocks up on Ilkley Moor. The town is also host to the well-known and popular Betty’s Tea Room, and there is a good selection of independent shops. The pretty market town of Settle, 12 miles, can be reached by train from Gargrave, and has a market square, variety of shops and cafés and of course, the famous Settle-Carlisle railway.

Mews has a free parking permit available which is provided by the owners.
    The historical cottage, built around the 1890’s and was a former stables for a local Inn, feels bright and stylish whilst maintaining the rustic feel of the property. After an action-packed day exploring the coast, enter into the kitchen/dining area where you will find everything you need to enjoy a self-catered break. Head into the spacious lounge where you can unwind on the comfortable seating, watch a film on the smart TV whilst enjoying the glows of the electric wood burner in the background. This warm and light room has double doors which lead into the enclosed courtyard area which can create a fresh and airy feel throughout the entire day. The coast is within a 10-minute walk and the nearest beach at Bossiney Cove is just 1.3 miles away or a 25-minute walk across the fields. Within easy reach are the coastal villages of Boscastle and Port Isaac, the latter made famous by the TV series, ’Doc Martin’. Further along the coast are the golden, sandy beaches of Rock and Polzeath. Plenty of walking and local paths perfect for the family, and prime dog walking places on the doorstep of Mews Cottage. Trebarwith Strand a 10 minutes drive is a perfect beach for this, dog friendly all year round, but is also accessable via the coastal path past St Materiana’s church.     The village of Seasalter can be found on the north coast of Kent, facing the Isle of Sheppey across the mouth of the River Swale. It is located five miles north of historic Canterbury, between Whitstable and Faversham.
    Seasalter, as it name implies, was an important centre for the production of salt as far back as the Iron Age and it was raided by Vikings due to its prosperity. By 1086 it was recorded in the Domesday Book as belonging to the "kitchen of the Archbishop" of Canterbury. At the western end of the village on the Faversham Road the local pub is like a welcoming lighthouse as visitors approach across the flat marshes. There has been an inn there since 1642.
