EnglandWhite Moss is one of our 5 historic buildings designed by Augustus (AWN) Pugin to let on The Terrace in Windermere. The house sleeps up to twelve in five bedrooms. Downstairs there’s a living room with seating for fifteen people, the room has a wood burning stove and large flat screen TV. The dining room is quite regal, with large table seating 11. The room also has a wood burning stove. The kitchen is hand made solid pine, with two oven Aga and a second range cooker, plus and all the usual appliances. Opposite the kitchen is a utility room with washing machine and dryer, plus an extra American style fridge/freezer with icemaker. It’s a great space for muddy boots and wet dogs. Finally there’s a down stairs toilet. In the cellar there’s a fantastic cinema room with twelve fold down cinema seats and a 75" Smart TV. On the first floor there are 4 bedrooms. Bedroom 1 is a king size 4 poster. Bedroom two is a cosy single. Bedroom 3 is a kingsize. Bedroom 4 has three single beds. There is a shower room with toilet and sink and a bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. Located on the second floor bedroom 5 has four single beds also on this floor is a statement bathroom with free standing bath, toilet and sink. White Moss is a great house for up to twelve people close to the heart of Windermere. It can be combined with any of our other houses on The Terrace (which each sleep fourteen). EnglandOrrest Head House was built in 1672 and was one of the first houses in Birthwaite, (as Windermere was known before it was renamed when the railway arrived in the 1850’s). Orrest Head House stands at the head of Windermere village and shares over 2 acres of stunning private grounds with Orrest Head Cottage (which can also be rented through Cumbrian Cottages CC127230). As you’d expect the house is packed full of eclectic features, which have evolved in over 400 years of history. After a recent renovation the house features a state-of-the-art kitchen with an adjacent TV snug room, lounge with huge sumptuous Chesterfield sofas seating 16 people, formal dining room with a grand square table again seating 16. And perhaps the most outstanding feature is Josiah Brown’s bar, your own pub within in a house, perfect for a party! Upstairs there are 5 large bedrooms all en suite including 2 with in bedroom baths overlooking the garden. Outside there’s a large patio area with barbecue and seating for all of your party. Parking for at least 10 cars. Plus direct access on the path to Orrest Head one of the finest short walks in The Lake District. Josiah Brown’s Bar: Named after the houses owner from 1670’s who enjoyed his fair share of entertaining, this historic room certainly would have made him proud.
