Dumfries and Galloway is a great location for walking and cycling, with a huge variety of country and coastal routes to explore. The river path along Cluden Water (as the Cairn is known on this stretch) can be accessed directly from the garden at Burnfoot. The Twelve Apostles stone circle is also within walking distance.
