The Granary (ref W43949) is a spacious barn and has been restored, taking care to use many of the original features and characteristics of its original life as a granary – the beams, the grain bag pulley system and other unknown objects have been put to good use. Chippenham is an old market town with good shopping facilities and Devizes is on the Kennet and Avon canal with the famous Caen locks. Bradford on Avon is often referred to as a ‘mini Bath’ with splendid Georgian architecture and a bustling community. The Roman spa city of Bath itself is a short drive and a must visit for a day out, with many famous sights to explore such as the museums, the abbey, Pulteney Bridge and the Roman baths to name but a few. Bowood House has magnificent gardens and adventure playground, and the famous ancient sites and stone circles at Stonehenge and Avebury are well worth a visit.
