There’s a restored theatre/events hall called the Witham, and the French chateau-like Bowes Museum is home to an impressive collection of European curio. For guests who enjoy visiting historical monuments and churches, there is Escomb Saxon Church, and if that isn’t enough, then Durham’s World Heritage sites surely will be. Durham is an ancient city with a vibrant atmosphere, thanks to its teeming student population.
