The Windermere ferry from Bowness to Far Sawrey takes 10 minutes and runs daily every 30 minutes; from here you can walk to Hill Top, Beatrix Potter’s former home, and now run by the National Trust, the Tower Arms in the village is also worth a visit for lunch!
