    Ideally located for a rural retreat, far enough away from civilisation but close enough to not feel isolated. Shrewsbury is full of finds to be discovered by foot or by boat, the River Severn is a must, as is the café culture, the castle and the churches that dominate Shrewsbury’s famous skyline.
    In the other direction and approximately 30 minutes’ drive away again, is the historical city of Chester with its excellent shopping and famous races, with the Blue Planet Aquarium close by and of course Chester Zoo, there are so many options.
    Throughout the year there are numerous food festivals and regattas. It’s a great place to visit. For the more adventurous travel seekers there are various walks and outdoor activities nearby including The Mercian Way which is part of the award-winning National Cycle Network. Overton-on-Dee which is surrounded by a forty-mile network of interconnecting public footpaths and bridleways, all of them readily accessible from the village.
