This delightful cottage can be found on the edge of the Peak District in the picturesque village of Cutthorpe, down a private country lane on the owner’s non-working farm of 2 acres. Green Farm is surrounded by fields, woodland, footpaths and bridleways with direct access to the Linacre Reservoirs and Holmebrook Country Park. Tawny Owl Barn is a beautifully converted stone barn, situated over two floors, retaining many original features. The ground floor lays claim to a cosy living room complete with a warming wood burner, leather sofas, exposed stone walls and wooden beams. There is also a fully-equipped kitchen/dining room, a great social space with a large dining table so you can have a home cooked meal with all the family, as well as a single bedroom with an oak sliding barn door. Head upstairs where you will find two en-suite bedrooms with varnished, natural wooden floors, one with a double bed and one with twin beds. Double glazed and centrally heated throughout, this barn is perfect for families and groups all year round.
Outside, there is a fully enclosed private garden with a patio table and chairs, a barbeque and views over open countryside. There is a gate giving access to the fully enclosed hot tub (which is available all year for an additional charge, payable locally). This also includes the supply of additional towels and dressing gowns. We have a one acre paddock to exercise your dog in. Up to two well behaved dogs.
Cutthorpe has two pubs within walking distance that are dog friendly and serve food. It has a pretty village green and benefits from panoramic views over Chesterfield with its famous crooked spire. The village is located on the edge of the Peak District National Park, yet is only 3 miles from The popular market town of Chesterfield. Its perfect location allows you to explore historic houses, walking, cycling and visiting the tourist towns of Bakewell, Matlock, Castleton, Buxton, Eyam and Hathersage. If its stately homes, castles and gardens you would like to visit, the magnificent Chatsworth House is only 10 minutes drive away; the grounds and house will provide a full day out. Within 30 minutes you can also visit Packwood house, Bolsover castle, Renishaw hall, Haddon hall and Hardwick hall.

For those that are more active, there are numerous options varying from local walks from your door, to more adventurous walks in the Peak District. Cyclists are also well catered for with a variety of road and off road tracks and trails. Additionally there is shooting, canoeing, horse riding, go ape, abseiling, climbing, fishing and golf all available nearby. Alternatively you can just relax and enjoy the tranquillity that Green Farm offers. The nearest shop is 2 miles, café 1½ miles, post office, doctors are all available locally.

When sleep calls, a king size bed awaits with matching furniture to house your belongings, and you can enjoy the peaceful setting, television free. The courtyard patio offers alternative dining arrangements when the weather is warm and where you can soak in the sun on the outdoor furniture and enjoy dining al fresco, whilst watching the wildlife over the nearby lake.

Directly from the property you can enjoy stunning country walks in many different directions, including an ever popular hike up to the Lumsdale Falls making this the ideal base for those who enjoy the outdoors. Bring your bikes and enjoy the off road cycling tracks for those who like exploring on two wheels.

Matlock Bath is a well known resort on the River Derwent. Visit the popular Heights of Abraham cable cars, enjoy fish and chips, and numerous entertainments throughout the year. The Matlock Bath illuminations and firework display are especially popular in autumn bringing in the crowds and lighting up the sky. A little further afield, Chatsworth House and Bakewell provide a wonderful day out, exploring the local businesses that line the streets. The location and property really are second to none and the perfect place for a break at any time of the year.

These luxurious, open plan apartments are situated on a working beef farm in the quiet hamlet of Heathcote, 2 miles from Hartington, an extremely friendly and pleasant village which has great pubs, cafés, and a very famous cheese shop! The location offers easy reach to many walks and trails and is in a great location for neighbouring towns such as Ashbourne, Buxton, Bakewell, Matlock Bath and Leek. Ensure you take the time to visit the delights Chatsworth has to offer, take your bike along the Tissington trail, and check out the famous Dovedale Steppingstones, all within a small number of miles from this base.
Heathcote Hideaway is the ground floor apartment, it offers a large open plan kitchen/diner, with everything you should need to enjoy your stay; there is a generously sized living room with comfy seating and a Smart TV. The apartment has two double bedrooms and one twin, each with en-suite shower rooms, there is a garden area for this property with a private hot tub.
Heathcote Hayloft, this is the first-floor apartment on Heathcote Grange, it offers a large open plan kitchen/diner, with everything you should need to enjoy your stay, there is a generously sized living room with comfy seating, Smart TV, and a double sofa bed for additional sleeping. The apartment has two double bedrooms, both with en-suites. There is also a balcony with a private hot tub.

Enjoy quality family time by staying in the beautiful area of the Peak District on the owner’s working livestock farm, where there is no light pollution and a great location for stargazing at night. Carr View (Ref UK36953) is one of two holiday properties finished to an extremely high standard and the owner takes great pride in ensuring you have the perfect stay. On the ground floor you will enter into the boot room, which has a neatly placed washing machine in a cupboard, kick your boots off and enter into the beautifully designed open plan kitchen which has all you need to enjoy your self-catering holiday with the dining room which has ample seating for six guests made up of chairs and a bench. The living room is very cosy with comfy sofas and an electric wood burner to bring a wonderful sense of relaxation to the room. Upstairs are three bedrooms, all with zip and link beds that can be made into twins on request, the master bedroom has a slightly larger bed and an en-suite. The family bathroom carries the same quality as the rest of the house and has been done beautifully, with walk in shower and bath.
Outside is a garden with a patio area and lawn, perfect to watch the sun rise and set. There is also a river running through the site, and a lake giving the opportunity for some cold water wild swimming!
The helpful owners, that live on-site, are on hand should you need anything, and provide luxury towels, complimentary toiletries, a welcome pack and even a Christmas tree for holidays throughout December.
There are electric car charging points just 5 minutes away in The Anglers Rest pub car park, and just 10 minutes away in the Hope village car park.
The location of this property offers seclusion with many fantastic countryside walks from the doorstep and a National Cycle Route nearby, so you wouldn’t really need to take the car. Or alternatively, a short drive into Castleton to visit the caves or venture into nearby towns of Bakewell and Buxton. Absorb the life of a working farm in the Peak District by visiting the cows, watching the lambs play and the chickens from the dining room window. This property really is the perfect base to explore the Hope Valley region of the Peak District, and close by is garden centre with café, a pottery and bike hire. Two pubs within 1 mile.

This beautifully presented cottage is in the heart of Bakewell, a town famous for its tasty puddings and padlock bridge amongst other things. Due to the cottage being on the hills you benefit from the outstanding, far reaching views of the town, golf course and beyond. Bakewell is home to traditional markets, it is great to walk around the local shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants that are all within walking distance of the property. Nestled in the heart of the Peak District, Bakewell is surrounded by many local attractions including Castleton Caves, the Monsal Trail, Chatsworth House and more. If you are a keen walker you are truly spoilt for choice in a location like this.
On the ground floor there is a modern kitchen diner with all you need to cook up your favourite meal; a living room with feature fireplace and TV. The bathroom is also located on the ground floor with a freestanding bath and shower enclosure. Please note the stairs are relatively steep. Upstairs is a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. Every room within the property is finished to a standard of excellence. Step out from the patio doors of the sitting room into the most delightful rear garden, complete with an additional dining area and enclosed lawn. The garden has a private, roofed hot tub for you to enjoy with your favourite tipple at your convenience. There is nothing quite like this property in the area and it will truly give you a holiday to remember.

Squirrel Cottage has been renovated in 2023, to a tasteful and modern standard. As you arrive and step into the open plan living space, you will find a beautiful island (with built-in hob) in the centre of the room, which also provides dining space for up to four guests to sit comfortably. The kitchen has all the appliances you should need to cook up a storm if you wish to do so! The living area has comfortable seating with a large, wall-mounted, Smart TV and to finish the room off nicely; bi-fold doors lead out into the garden, which can be left open on days that allow.
Upstairs is the master bedroom with a kingsize bed, which has the addition of a galleried snug area with TV and bean bags to give you a little quiet corner to enjoy, and also an en-suite with freestanding bath (please be careful on the laddered steps to get to this area). The second bedroom is a king which can be split into two singles if required, and has wardrobe space. Outside is a great size garden, which has a lawned area to the right as well as a patio directly outside the bi-fold doors. You can sit on the garden furniture and watch the squirrels!
Squirrel Cottage is located in close proximity to the town centre of Glossop, just a short walk away from all it has to offer, including coffee shops, pubs and restaurants as well as supermarkets and shops. Manor park and gardens are also just around the corner. There is a variety of walks surrounding Glossop, such as, a car-free Longendale Trail which has beautiful scenery to take in while you enjoy your walk or cycle, plus you are only a 30-minute drive from Edale, Castleton or the spa town of Buxton, all offering further fantastic walking routes which are picturesque.

The Stag’s Wallow is a luxury lodge offering stunning accommodation ideally suited for two adults. The lodge is positioned in a beautiful setting where you have views of the undisturbed countryside leaving you feeling relaxed in this peaceful environment.
You may even be lucky enough to have the resident red deer saying hello just the other side of the garden fence.
Inside the lodge there is a fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher, fridge (with freezer compartment), electric hob, and oven. The kitchen is open plan to a dining area and living room which offers comfortable seating and TV, and there are large patio doors and windows so you can continue to enjoy the views from inside. The lodge has a double bedroom (king size bed) and a shower room, the overall feeling of The Stag’s Wallow is light and airy with high ceilings, light finishes, and minimalistic furnishings.
There is a decked area with bistro set which makes the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or an evening drink watching the sunset, there is a generous amount of lawn for your furry friend to run around on, plus the added bonus of a woodfired hot tub to relax in after your fun days exploring.
The location is excellent, set within the landscape of Ashbourne, one of the Peak Districts most visited towns, there is so much on offer here from scenic walks on the Tissington Trail, the famous Dovedale Stepping Stones where you can also venture up Thorpe Cloud and take in the amazing views or if you wish to get the adrenaline pumping Alton Towers theme park is a 35 minute drive. Carsington Water is also nearby which offers many water sports activities, bird watching as well as having an 8-mile loop around the reservoir which is bike friendly too. Return back to The Stag’s Wallow and know you have a warm and comfortable base and just a short walk down the road is a lovely pub serving a varied menu with a lovely garden and electric vehicle charging.

Entering The Stone Barn after walking up the garden path, you’ll find your shoe storage, hot tub towels and the ground floor toilet, perfect when nipping to and from the tub. The ground floor has a large open plan living space with French doors opening directly into the enclosed garden where you have a deck to enjoy your morning coffee, a patio with a table and seating for eight, and a brick-built BBQ. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you’ll need during your stay, whilst meals are enjoyed seated on the handmade tables and benches. The living area boasts a large L-sofa with ample space for a full house. The log burner takes centre stage so everyone can enjoy the extra warmth of the fire whilst chatting or watching a film on the TV.
The sheltered hot tub seats eight adults and can be enjoyed all year round, despite the unpredictable English weather! There are two en-suite bedrooms; the spacious super king is on the ground floor with a walk-in shower and the other is located upstairs with a kingsize bed and enclosed shower. The remaining first floor rooms also offer kingsize beds and share a larger bathroom with both a shower and bathtub. All the beds in the property can be split into singles upon request. Dogs are welcome in The Stone Barn; the fenced garden means you won’t need to worry about any escape artists, and the owners are happy to offer access to various fields on the farm for ’walkies’.
There’s nothing better than a refreshing walk in the country air and there are plenty of routes on offer right on the doorstep so make sure you pack your walking boots! A short journey by car reveals even more opportunities, from stunning natural beauty spots, with routes suitable from novice to the most-seasoned ramblers, like Stanage and Curbar Edge or the magnificent Mam Tor. Picturesque villages such as Bakewell and Castleton are great for coffee and cake pit-stops along the way, whilst there’s also tons of great days out for families such as Chatsworth Farmyard and Adventure Playground, The Heights of Abraham, and Alton Towers. Sheffield is only a 20-minute drive away and equally as close to the stunning scenery of South Yorkshire. There are two pubs within walking distance from the farm, plus more a short drive away.

The Pig Barn at Nether Burrows Farm was lovingly converted in 2016 and once housed pigs along with their keepers that used to sleep in the same building on the top floor. Now, this old barn has been transformed into a welcoming and delightful holiday home that enjoys the most spectacular views across the Derbyshire countryside.

Whilst Nether Burrows offers enough to keep everyone entertained, it is ideally positioned to explore all the Peak District has to offer. The bustling city of Derby is just 4 miles away and within easy driving distance are Chatsworth House (which boasts a famous collection of art treasures as well as beautiful gardens) and Haddon Hall (England’s most complete and authentic medieval house dating back to the 14th century). Carsington Water offers nature trails, a wildlife sanctuary, riding, water sports, cycle hire and a restaurant. There are many excellent pubs in the surrounding villages. Dovedale, Markeaton Park and the market towns of Ashbourne and Bakewell are also well worth a visit. Shop 3½ miles, pub 1¼ miles and restaurant 2¼ miles.
