It also has an award-winning beauty salon offering relaxing treatments, a renowned book sellers (Scarthin Books) and a chocolatier. Arkwright’s historic Cromford Mill is a short walk away near the scenic canal basin and houses a museum and specialist shops. The immediate local area boasts an abundance of attractions such as the Heights of Abraham with its own cable cars, the Peak District Mining Museum, Masson Mill and many walks with stunning rural views. The more active are catered for with plentiful longer walking and cycling routes plus climbing and caving around the Derwent Valley and the White Peak.
