The cottage, which accommodates up to four adults, is believed to be over 200 years old and was once the village school. Scenery Cottage is close to the 17th century Thomas Becket Church as well as the highly recommended Bridford Inn. Best of all, the cottage looks out over wonderful scenery (hence the name) and there are stunning walks literally from the doorstep. Whilst it is the perfect place for a long weekend break, there is more than enough to do and see to reward an extended stay too. The cottage has a kitchen/dining area which is fully equipped and with a wood burner. After a fun filled day exploring Devon, you can kick back on the sofa in the cosy living room, relax and watch your favourite programme on the Smart Freeview TV. Heading up to the first floor, there are two comfortably furnished bedrooms. One has a double bed and an en-suite shower room and the other has twin beds. Although very popular with walkers and horse riders, the village is not on the usual tourist trail and has remained unspoilt. This area is one of Dartmoor’s best kept secrets, a quiet, traditional village set in beautiful countryside in an area that has been captivating visitors for generations. The magical waterfalls, lakes and ancient woodlands of Canonteign Falls are just 4 miles away as well as the Teign Valley Golf Course. The wild bird sanctuary and reserve at Dawlish Warren is nearby, as is Dartmoor National Park which offers excellent opportunities for outdoor pursuits including walks around the local reservoirs and to explore the various different tors on the moorland.
    Whether you want a quiet gentle stroll or an exhilarating mountain biking experience, there’s something for you at Haldon Forest Park. Go Ape and Go Segway are based at Haldon Forest as well as a range of four walking and five cycling trails to suit all abilities. South Devon’s bustling resorts and beautiful beaches are just a short drive away including Teignmouth which is 30 minutes, 35 minutes to Dawlish and Exmouth can be reached in around 40 minutes which offers opportunities for paddleboarding, windsurfing and sailing.
