The master bedroom in each property features a flatscreen TV, and home-made meals can be pre-ordered and delivered to the cottage (arranged direct with the owner). The cottages lie just a short distance from some of south Devon’s finest beaches and tourist attractions, including the historic town of Totnes which is just 15 minutes away and sits on the River Dart with cruises down river to Greenway and Dartmouth. A cosmopolitan town, Totnes, 7 miles away, has a vast array of independent shops, weekly markets, galleries, leisure centre and many lovely restaurants, bistros and cafés. The seaside towns of Paignton and Torquay are 40 minutes’ drive, and it is just a 15-minute drive to the yachting haven of Dartmouth, and the coastline between Dartmouth and Kingsbridge, both 7 miles away, has many stunning beaches, hidden coves and fantastic coastal walks.

Guests of these cottages can also enjoy a range of on-site facilities suitable for all the family, including a heated indoor swimming pool (available via a booking system) with a private changing room and shower. There is a large games room set over two floors, including a fitness room with a cross trainer, treadmill, rowing machine and exercise bike. The top floor of the games room has a full-size American pool table, big sofa and Sky TV. The bottom floor has table tennis and table football. On-site there is also a laundry and ironing room. If you are looking for adventure and an adrenalin rush, then Wheeldon Farm Cottages will not disappoint. The Wheeldon Off-Road Centre, adjacent to the cottages, boasts a purpose-built, 30,000 square foot indoor arena (split in separate halves for motorbikes and bicycles) and junior training circuit, and is the ideal year-round venue for the whole family to learn to ride a motorcycle in a fun and controlled environment. Discounted rates are available for children and adults during the school holidays (booking by arrangement and on arrival), providing children and adults with the opportunity to experience the ultimate, two-wheel off-road adventure for the first time. The instructors at Wheeldon Farm are all ACU accredited and will guide the children through their paces every step of the way. For some activities, all the kit, clothing, boots, gloves, helmets and fun bikes are provided. All that’s needed is the enthusiasm to have a great deal of fun! Suited to all ages from 7 years to fit seniors. Wheeldon Farm now offers all of it’s holiday cottage customers a free 1 hour ‘taster’ ride on our professionally maintained Haibike electric bikes, after which they are available to hire. The bikes are perfect for exploring the beautiful South Devon countryside in an environmentally friendly way. We can advise you on the best routes to ride and places to explore.

In addition to all the motorbike fun, a range of other activities can also be organised locally, including horse riding, golf, go-karting and trout and carp fishing. Also, clay pigeon shooting, air rifle and archery are available - these are run by a fully qualified instructor and all equipment is provided. The activities run on a Monday, Thursday and Sunday. Set in a rural location with stunning views of the surrounding countryside.This large, imposing, detached country house is the ideal place for a large family or group to come and stay whilst enjoying all that North Devon has to offer. The house has large living areas, a very well equipped kitchen with a quintessential Aga. There is a spacious dining room which is ideal for celebrating a special occasion, and well-furnished bedrooms, the majority of which have en-suite facilities, complete this charming house. Outside, there is the use of a private hot tub as well as a private swimming pool. There is a large well tended garden with plenty of space and sitting out areas for all to enjoy and a play area for small children. Located just outside the village of Beaford, there is also a local pub within walking distance.
North Devon has plenty to see and do, and is home to some of the best beaches in the country including Woolacombe and Saunton. The nearest beach is at Instow and is ideal for children or just a great place to walk off life’s stresses, and then enjoy a meal or drink at one of the pubs and restaurants along the front. The town of Great Torrington is only a short drive away and has most amenities you may require. The larger regional town of Barnstaple has a busy high street, the Pannier Market and famous Butchers Row. There are numerous places of interest close by including the RHS gardens at Rosemoor, Dartington Crystal and the historic fishing village at Clovelly. For the younger ones a visit to the Big Sheep or Milky Way Adventure Parks is a good option. There is walking on Dartmoor or hire a bike and cycle the Tarka Trail, and there is also golf and fishing available locally.
Beaford House is also a registered wedding venue and as well as the large house, there is also access to a great, well equipped function room should you decide to spend your big day here. Shop 5 miles, pub ¾ mile.

With views of the sea as you approach this holiday property, Honeysuckle Bay Cottage is one half of a 17th-century former public house, which has been tastefully decorated and furnished offering spacious accommodation. This semi-detached house has views across Torbay from upstairs, with a balcony in the main bedroom. Close by are Napoleonic forts, which are now part of the Berry Head Nature Reserve, and can be visited at any time. Shoalstone Pool, an outdoor saltwater pool, is an Art Deco icon of the South Devon coastline, and is just ¼ mile away.

Situated in a quiet location in the Teign Valley, close to Dartmoor National Park, is this spacious, detached, upside-down house. With amazing views from the balcony off the living room, you can sometimes see deer grazing on the hillside. The property has been decorated and furnished to a very good standard, with oak worktops in the kitchen, an enclosed garden with hot tub and a garden shed with a children’s pool table. There are so many things to see and do in this part of Devon, including Canonteign Falls, which is only 2 miles from Middle Wicket, many National Trust properties and Crealy Adventure park in Exeter. Haldon Forest has many activities on offer, including cycle ways for off road cycling, a butterfly trail and for the really active visitors, there is a Go Ape.

If you fancy a flutter at the races, both Exeter and Newton Abbot racecourses are close by, or take a trip to Plymouth to visit the National Marine Aquarium, Plymouth Hoe and the Barbican. Living Coasts, a fantastic journey around the coastlines of the world next to Torquay Harbour, featured on TV, and which has reconstructed beaches, cliff-faces and an estuary. Living Coasts has fascinating coastal animals from penguins to seals, puffins to sea ducks. Kent’s Cavern, a National Heritage pre-historic site, where cavemen once lived is fascinating, and you can travel back to the world of cavemen. Picturesque thatched Cockington village in Torquay, has a working forge, craft centre and Norman church, while Berry Head Old Fortess has dramatic open cliffs overlooking Torbay, and enjoys a nature reserve and a beauty spot. Watcombe beach is the nearest beach which is 2 miles, and Oddicombe Beach, with its sand and shingle beach, has moderately easy access and enjoys a cliff lift to take the strain. Beach 2 miles.
