The Big Sheep farm park, The Milky Way activity park, Dartington Crystal and RHS Rosemoor are other places of interest to visit.     Slade Cottage is a cosy and idyllic rural retreat located just a couple of miles away from Exmoor and 1 mile from the quiet hamlet of Charles. It lies on Slade Farm in a tranquil valley on the owners’ working sheep and goat farm overlooking a forest and fields with deer and wildlife wandering past, and surrounded by quiet country lanes. Semi-detached and with views over some farm buildings, this semi-detached barn conversion is split level in design and benefits from an open-plan country style layout with underfloor heating throughout. The spacious, open plan sleeping and living area has a double bed at the far end of the room and patio doors leading to the patio area. There is also a large corner sofa bed, which can accommodate an additional two guests, and a Freeview TV. Three steps lead to the well-equipped kitchen/dining area, from where the shower room leads off. Outside, the large west-facing patio, which benefits from the late evening summer sun, overlooks the secluded garden in which children and dogs will enjoy playing.
    The village of Brayford is 2 miles from the cottage with its 900-year-old Church of All Saints High Bray set on the hill above the Bray Valley. There are also many charming village pubs and restaurants to explore nearby. The village is close to the dramatic North Devon coast with some of the best beaches in the country; a day trip to Woolacombe and Saunton are not to be missed. The South West Coastal Path and the Tarka Trail are superb for walking and the coastline is varied and interesting.
    RHS Rosemoor, Marwood Gardens, Arlington Court, Clovelly, Exmoor Zoo, the Combe Martin Dinosaur Park and Hartland Abbey are all within driving distance. For the keen golfers, Portmore Golf club in Landkey and Saunton Golf club are both nearby. Visit the National Trust’s Watersmeet Gorge, Valley of the Rocks and the funicular cliff railway. Up on Exmoor, there are various walks to suit all abilities, as well as pretty places worth visiting including Tarr Steps, Landacre Bridge and the charming little village of Withypool.
