Church View Cottage and Barn is a lovely character property and comprises the main cottage which can be booked on its own by request; the Barn sits behind the cottage and sleeps up to four guests. Church View Cottage itself benefits from a cosy downstairs living area with double sofa bed, single pull out bed, Smart TV and wood burner, perfect for those winter evenings. There is a dining area a few steps up from this room with seating and doors leading out onto the rear courtyard garden. The kitchen and utility room are both downstairs and fully equipped with all you could need to rustle up a meal. Upstairs is the modern walk-in shower room with quality fixtures and fittings. Hatherleigh is a great base for walking and cycling being directly on both the Tarka trail and the Devon coast to coast cycle route. Tiverton is just 6 miles away, and Bickleigh Mill with its lovely river walks, small fun railway, shop and café, is nearby. Spend a day exploring tranquil moorland and winding rivers in the Exmoor National Park, as well as the breathtaking coastline full of secluded bays and spectacular cliffs. Exmoor is sprinkled with quaint villages, attractive towns and charming harbours. Enjoy a day out at Tiverton Canal, walk with the horse drawn canal boat or enjoy a boat trip. Children can take part in bush-craft courses and activities ranging from camp fire cooking and toasting marshmallows to bug hunting and learning woodland skills - a day with the experienced staff will ensure youngsters come away with a new found love of the great outdoors. The Ashcombe Village Club opens on various evenings providing cheap beer in a cheerful atmosphere, event evenings, traditional summer fêtes and shows. Guests at Ashcombe can also enjoy foraged and wild walks that take place every Tuesday and last for around two hours.
