Take a trip to the Donkey Sanctuary, visit the stunning gardens at Bicton, or for a great family day out, there is Crealy Adventure Park or Pecorama with it’s miniature railway. For the very adventurous, visit Haldon Hill and try zip wires through the trees at Go Ape, or take your bike and go cycling off road on the many countryside trails that there are on offer. Upon entering the property, you will be welcomed into the open plan kitchen, living and dining area which feels bright and spacious. The living area has a smart TV with freeview and plenty of comfortable seating including a double sofa bed which can be setup to accommodate two guests if requested. Wind down and watch a film here after a busy day exploring the coastline. The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric oven, electric hob, microwave, dishwasher and a ¾ sized fridge/ freezer and the dining area is a great space to enjoy a family meal.

Coastal and estuary cruises operate from the dock and charter boats are available for fishing trips. From November to February, the Exe Estuary is home for some 20,000 migratory birds, and the red sandstone cliffs of Orcombe Point at the eastern end of the beach are designated the gateway to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast.
    The beautiful pebbled heathlands of East Devon with extensive walks, abundant wildlife, rare plants and splendid panoramic views are only a few minutes’ drive from the property, and the South West coastal path is nearby. Keen hikers should head to Dartmoor National Park, which is just a 30-minute drive away, and the quintessential East Devon coastal towns and villages of Budleigh Salterton, Beer, Branscombe, Sidmouth and Seaton are within easy reach.     The Woodshed is the former timber store to Buckland Mill, which was converted into its current incarnation in 2019 by the current owners. It is in a beautifully peaceful and private forest clearing which after a short drive through it gloriously comes into sight! There is ample parking available to the front of the barn and as you enter you are greeted by the characterful open plan living room with plenty of seating and a cosy wood burner. The beautiful beech and copper staircase, with wood sourced from the woodland, leads to the first floor and two lovely bedrooms comprising a double and a kingsize, both with quality, modern en-suite shower rooms. Back downstairs, the dining area and modern, well-equipped kitchen are both framed by a lovely, exposed stone wall. The whole of the ground floor also benefits from underfloor heating.
    Heading out from the kitchen, there is a warm tiled hallway which is perfect for keeping your outdoor accessories and walking boots and there’s access to a separate toilet and a handy enclosed courtyard area with a dog shower. The hallway can also double up as a peaceful retreat where you can sit and relax. Outside, you can enjoy roaming the vast 25 acres of pasture and woodland where domestic sheep and wild deer can sometimes be seen grazing. The grouinds boast an amazing varierty of birdlife including owls, woodpeckers, pheasants, Canada geese, moorhens and indeed everything from the smallest of finches to large birds of prey. Mr Fox is also a frequent visitor! Solitude is plentiful - you can simply relax just up a few steps in the private lawned area, or if you are feeling more sociable, sit by the firepit with a drink in hand. Should you be the ‘energetic sort’, there is a pétanque piste, which will inevitably require a healthy supply of wine to appreciate the ambience! The property has 25 acres (approximately 50% pasture land and 50% woodland) which guests are welcome to roam on. The small lawn behind the barn is the only private area though. The rest is shared with the owner when they are present next door and there is a public right of way through the forest.
