The RSPB sanctuary at Bempton Cliffs, is just 1.5 miles away, where you can take in super views across to Flamborough Head whilst spotting the many rare bird species safely nesting. This is the second biggest RSPB centre and attracts many guests throughout the year. Scattered across the East Yorkshire Coast are many quaint villages with shops and inns in abundance. A 20-mile drive brings you to the North York Moors National Park, and the village of Goathland, better know as Aidensfield (Heartbeat’s very own village).

Historic houses nearby include Sledmere House and Burton Agnes Hall. Bridlington with sandy beaches, fun fair and indoor swimming pool is 10-minute drive. There are numerous attractions to visit including The Deep, a spectacular aquarium in Hull, and the Jorvik Centre and magnificent minster in York. The historic market town of Beverley is just a 20 minute drive and the coastal resorts of Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough along with the North York Moors are all easily accessible. Golf, clay pigeon shooting, fishing and horse riding are available locally and the owner is happy to share his extensive local knowledge, giving advice on walks, cycle routes and nature reserve locations.
