Mill Cottage is a delightful detached property in the grounds of the historic Old Mill House, furnished and decorated to a very good standard and offering ideal accommodation for those who enjoy quiet holidays in the country. Secluded, yet close to all the attractions, culture, history and shopping that York, Pocklington and Hull have to offer. This property offers the best of both worlds, so holidaymakers can enjoy gorgeous canal walks in clean country air and also vibrant city ambiance. A south-facing garden room to the side provides the usual entrance to the cottage (front door access to the cottage is available on request for those with reduced mobility) and a ground floor bedroom with an en-suite shower room provides further convenient facilities for those with restricted mobility. West End Farmhouse stands proud in the peaceful village of Ulrome, close to the beautiful rugged Yorkshire Coast. This detached holiday property is excellent for families, as there is a very large garden for the children to run around in and a little Wendy house for them to play in. There is also a fantastic terraced area, which is ideal for a barbecue, and in addition, a boot room with a stairgate and storage for bikes and boots. For people who enjoy fishing, the owner provides coarse fishing free of charge (fishing licence required) for the fishing pond, which is just along the lane. In 15 minutes, guests can walk from the property down through the village lanes to the beach. It provides an excellent base for those wishing to explore the east coast of Yorkshire and what it has to offer. Close by, visit the famous RSPB Bempton Cliffs, where you can observe puffins and gannets in their natural habitat. There are some fantastic walks and cycle rides along the rugged cliffs of the east coast, some of it being part of the Cleveland Way. Just 8 miles down the coast, visit the hustle and bustle of the traditional seaside resort of Bridlington. With its working fishing port, you can see the catch brought in on the quayside. There is also a large sandy beach and rock pools for the kids to go crabbing. The famous Spa theatre also provides excellent entertainment throughout the year. Guests can take a short land train journey to Sewerby Hall and Gardens, just one of the many stately homes in the area. Burton Agnes and Sledmere are also worth a visit and for those who would like a trip out; you have the fantastic medieval city of York, which is just over an hour away. The beautiful market town of Beverley is just a 30-minute drive away, where you can browse the local shops or even visit the racecourse. Beach ½ mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

These three properties are set on a working arable farm, which was a finalist in the ’Remarkable East Yorkshire Tourism Awards’ 2018.

All lovingly converted to a very good standard and each maintains many of there original features, including beams, tiled and wooden floors. The Old Stable (ref UK31779) has been expertly restored from stable sides which feature in the open plan living area. This area also has a series of small handmade stained-glass windows set high up on the back wall, which throw light onto the first-floor corridor. They are a delight and depict a story of a working horse and her foal, so in keeping with this fabulous holiday home. On the first floor are four of the five en-suite bedrooms offering a mixture of twin and kingsize accommodation. The house bathroom is an absolute delight with a free-standing roll-top bath, tiled floors and Velux windows. The Old Barn (ref UKC998) has two bedrooms on the ground floor along with the family bathroom, and the third bedroom on the first floor. The Cart Shed (ref UKC999) has the open plan living space on the first floor and all three bedrooms are on the ground floor, all three have their own TV. All three properties have underfloor heating throughout the ground floor which provides a cosy feel.

There are great walks round the farm, as well as along the riverbank and throughout the area. The Hind House has been refurbished in 2018 to a very good standard and was the original living quarters for the farm works at Cottam Warren Farm. Situated down a long drive and nestled under large beech trees to the edge of this working arable farm, this detached house has wonderful views over the rolling countryside of the Yorkshire Wolds with the market town of Driffield, only 4 miles away. Within easy reach of the property are numerous stately homes including Sledmere House and Burton Agnes Hall, quiet Wolds villages and the market towns of Beverley and Malton, not to mention the seaside resorts of Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough. For those wishing to explore a little further afield, York, Whitby and the Yorkshire Moors are all less than an hours’ drive away.

The kitchen has a working Aga, but don’t worry an electric oven is also available for those not wishing to use this traditional farmhouse oven. An Aga cookbook is on hand with lots of delicious recipes to try. The dining room sits in the middle of the property and retains the sweeping staircase and a large picture window. The Hind House offers plenty of outside space too with a kennel for dogs, a bike store for keen cyclists, a large-enclosed garden for children to play in and a patio area perfectly placed to enjoy the evening sun and al fresco dining. Woodlands is the perfect retreat for couples or a small family. Situated next to the Bridlington Links Golf Course this well presented, detached lodge is ideal for that special holiday, tucked away in the corner of the site making it a nice private area to be in. The lodge benefits from private parking for up to two cars.

There are a small number of lodges on this site offering a great holiday atmosphere for those who like to meet others, as well as the option of simply enjoying a quiet, relaxing holiday. The site club house serves fantastic meals and in the summer months you can enjoy a drink on the large open terrace overlooking the sea. There is an 18 hole golf course, driving range and gym, all payable locally at the club house. Nearby you could enjoy some horse riding, or spot the local wildlife during your adventures out in the rural countryside.

The village of Sewerby is just a short stroll away where you can find a local pub serving good food as well as a fish and chip shop for a good old fashioned ’tea-time’. From Sewerby you can walk along the cliff tops down to Bridlington or in the summer months a land train is available.
The Lodge backs onto Sewerby Hall, a Georgian mansion open to the public. The gardens are spectacular and the house is host to many events throughout the year. The seaside town of Bridlington can easily be reached on foot or just a short drive. Possibly the best attraction of Bridlington is its large sandy beach that is sure to provide a great day out of sandcastle building and paddling! There are plenty of bars, pubs and restaurants to be found as well as some great shopping to be had. The cities of York and Hull, named the ‘City of culture 2017’, are both well worth a visit during your stay and can be reached by car in less than an hour. Beach 1 mile.
