They are the perfect properties for both family and friend groups looking for excellent quality accommodation to reunite and get together in a beautiful part of the country. They can be booked together to sleep up to 16 or as two separate houses of 8.
They have been sympathetically designed from their original use as farm buildings and enjoy beautiful beams and many original features. Both Hatchers Barn and its neighbour, Olivers Barn mirror each other and have two ground floor bedrooms and two first floor bedrooms, each with their own staircase leading from the open plan living space. The comfortable sofas are centred around the cosy log burner, perfect for relaxing with family and friends. The well-equipped kitchen and dining area, with a huge oak dining table made in the Estate’s own workshop will provide the perfect setting for cooking and eating. The private garden gives you a lovely space to enjoy outdoor living during the warmer months.
The barns are situated on a farm in a quiet rural area in Berkshire’s ‘Valley of the Racehorse’ with the bonus of being within walking distance of a great public house, where you can enjoy great British seasonal food and the warmest of welcomes. It’s a wonderland for walkers with footpaths from the front door which will take you into the beautiful countryside. Cycling is also very popular in this area with plenty of routes to take and discover.
Approximately 3 miles away is the charming and historic market town of Hungerford, best known today as a centre for antique shops and fairs. The town is also home to other unique shops and boutiques, where you can lose yourself for a few hours. There’s also a range of warm and friendly pubs, cheery tea shops and restaurants with lots to tempt you. Other local attractions and activities in the area include Barbury shooting school, Lambourn racing stables, Newbury Racecourse, Highclere Castle (also known as the filming location for Downton Abbey), Avebury Stone Circle, Donnington Castle, Thatcham Nature Discovery Centre, and the prestigious Windsor Castle.
