Blackhill Gate Cottage is set in an unrivalled rural location offering superb panoramic countryside views across the stunning scenery of the Peak District National Park. The National Trust Lyme Park with its glorious house and gardens can be reached on foot or by car and the magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and the popular market town of Bakewell, 45 minute’s drive. A variety of Peak District villages are all easily reachable within half an hour’s drive including Edale, Tideswell and Castleton, and great days out for the family within an hour’s drive include the local Chestnut Centre Wildlife Park, Carsington Water, Matlock Bath with is cable car and the UK’s premier theme park Alton Towers. Offering a rural experience, Drumble Lodge can be found at the end of a winding country lane on a working farm amidst beautiful Cheshire countryside. The location is peaceful and serene, where you can enjoy the sounds of bird song throughout the day and the distinctive calls of owls at night. The farm on which the lodge stands has been registered as a wedding venue and will accommodate smaller weddings. Pet sheep and goats that meander around the paddock next to the lodge, and in the distance, you’ll see cows grazing in the meadow. Despite the rural setting, the property has Sky Link Wi-Fi with 200 megabites per second.
A selection of outdoor seating areas are available where you can relax, unwind and once the sun sets gaze at the stars beyond through the telescope provided. A traditional dog friendly, food serving pub is a mere 10-minute walk, and ample footpaths radiate from the area just waiting to be explored. The pretty market town of Congleton can be reached in around 10 minutes and is home to ample amenities including a selection of supermarkets and shops together with many bars and restaurants.
The National Trusts Biddulph Grange Country Park and Little Moreton Hall are also accessible in around a 10-minute drive. You can take a waterside stroll along the River Dane, cycle the tranquil traffic free Biddulph Valley Way, or walk to the famous atmospheric ruins of Mow Cop Castle and lesser-known Old Man of Mow.
The Peak District National Park is around a 30-minute drive and the city of Manchester can be reached in under an hour on a direct train from Congleton station. For those with children Delamere Forest, Manley Mere and Britain’s premier theme park Alton Towers can be reached in around 45 minutes and then finally the city of Chester, Blue Planet Aquarium and Chester Zoo in around an hour.

Brackenwood is a distinguished and spacious, six-bedroomed period house with a separate two-bedroom cottage annexe, located on the beautiful Wirral Peninsula. In a prominent elevated position, it borders extensive areas of natural beauty with direct access to the beautiful woodlands of Caldy Hill. Offering far-reaching views, the property is detached and gated with CCTV making it private and secure. Filled with as much history as it has character and charm, it offers flexible and usable accommodation. The main house covers three levels, is beautifully presented, and luxuriously modernised to match the needs of today’s living. Upon entering via the original period front door, the grand entrance hall opens to a spacious sitting room where there’s a Fendi chaise lounge, comfy sofas, Smart TV, parquet flooring and beautiful Persian rugs. Next door is a spacious bedroom with a super kingsize bed and an elegant oak desk. The impressive underfloor heated kitchen/diner is based around a quartz top centre island and is a foodie’s dream. There are three inbuilt fridges (including a bespoke drinks fridge), plus a large larder freezer - perfect for entertaining. The AEG ovens and microwave are at eye level and self-cleaning; there’s a Nespresso coffee machine and an Alexa. The large dining table and soft seating space is flooded with natural light thanks to huge bi-fold doors, and the utility houses a Miele washing machine and tumble dryer. Finally there’s a downstairs toilet.
On the first floor is the master suite with super kingsize bed, sofa seating and TV. It has a vast en-suite with stand-alone bath and power shower. There are three further double bedrooms, of which one is en-suite, and the main family bathroom. The second floor boasts another luxurious bedroom with sky lights and en-suite facilities, and many of the bedrooms can be offered as twin upon request. All beds have pocket sprung luxury mattresses with 200-thread-count cotton linen, and duvets and pillows are ethically sourced goose/duck down.
The luxurious two-bedroom cottage was newly converted in 2023 and sleeps four guests in two double bedrooms. Finished to a high specification throughout, it includes a luxury bathroom with walk-in shower. When ready to get out and about in the local area, you can choose to walk straight from the front door to start your day with a visit to the Ingersley Vale Waterfall or popular local landmark white Nancy, or maybe just a short drive away for a hike up Macc View for outstanding scenery. History buffs will relish in a trip to the nearby town of Macclesfield where they can discover the rich and captivating history of Armoury Towers and Fence Alms Houses or the Priests House that rests in the quintessential village of Prestbury.
