    Inside it is charming and quirky. The open plan living space and dining area are perfect for that special get-together with friends or family. There is a large wood burner for the cooler nights, with comfy sofas to curl up on. Décor is as you would expect of a lodge, with wooden floors and panelling, tartans and checks and it has a wonderful homely feel to it. Comfortably catering for up to six people, with a well-equipped shaker style kitchen and modern appliances. Should you wish to rustle up brunch or a hearty supper. Upstairs are three good sized bedrooms with king size, super king and twin beds. The kingsize bedroom has doors leading out onto a spacious decked balcony where you can sit and enjoy views of the gardens and beyond. Set on the edge of the Northumberland National Park, the location is excellent for exploring the spectacular scenery of the north of England, the Scottish borderland and the Lake District National Park, which is just an hour away. Nearby you can discover the Vindolanda Roman Fort, The Sill Landscape Discovery Centre and the world famous Sycamore Gap on Hadrian’s Wall. Also within easy reach is Haltwhistle, which is the ‘Geographic Centre of Britain’, with sports centre and outdoor heated swimming pools, and Burn Gorge. A must visit is the historic market town of Hexham, which boasts a stunning abbey, the oldest gaol in the country, and an abundance of eclectic shops, restaurants and pubs. Continue to the beautiful Roman town of Corbridge and meander round its boutique shops, art galleries and antique shops, stop for a coffee or take a stroll along the river.
