The village has two fantastic pubs serving home cooked meals and there are also direct train lines into Sheffield or Manchester. The cottage itself has beed finished to a very good standard and is the perfect place for a couple or two friends. There is a lovely garden area at the front with table and chairs from where you can see the river. On entering the cottage, you are greeted by the open plan living area, which the owners have cleverly designed to feel spacious. There is a well-equipped kitchen, a great size TV with access to Sky, and comfy seating that can be made into a sofa-bed if required. On the first floor is the kingsize bedroom with its en-suite shower room. Redmonds Retreat is quaint and highly desirable for walkers or people just looking for an easy countryside escape.

Rose Barn is a cosy barn conversion, boasting fantastic countryside views. The property is located within Sparrowpit, which is close to Castleton, Buxton and Chapel-en-le-Frith, all towns offering great days out whether that be exploring the caverns, shopping in the independent stores or a lovely meal in the many eateries in all towns. In the village of Sparrowpit there is a local food and drink spot and also a farm shop for all you fresh fruit and veg needs.
Rose Barn offers self-catering accommodation for up to four guests to include infants. On the ground floor there is a kitchen diner, equipped with all you should need during your stay to rustle up your favourite dinner. Relax and unwind in the cosy living room with TV and electric wood burner at the end of your fun-filled day. On the first floor you will find two comfortable bedrooms, made up of a double and twin, and a shower room. Outside there is a pleasant garden with furniture and countryside views, a perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee while you plan the day ahead. There is parking available for one small car but ample roadside parking is free.

Woodlands Barn is a bungalow offering excellent accommodation for up to four guests and one large dog or two small ones. The property is private and has an outstanding view across the village of Chinley and surrounding Peak District hills. Previously a stable, this property has undergone extensive renovations in 2023 and is light and finished to a very good standard. As you arrive at the long private drive, you will find a designated parking area for two vehicles; there is also a secure bike store and an EV charger available (at additional cost by arrangement with the owners). At the top of the driveway you will find a patio area at the front of the property with outdoor furniture and chiminea; it is the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee whilst planning your exciting day ahead, or at the end of the day light the chiminea and enjoy a glass of your favourite wine.
Step into the bungalow and you are into the kitchen where there is a utility section offering washing machine, doggy cupboard plus an iron and ironing board. The kitchen has all the equipment and appliances you should need as well as a dining table with four chairs positioned perfectly to take in the views. The living room is comfortable with ample furniture, Smart TV, and an electric wood burner.
There is a kingsize bedroom with an en-suite shower room; this bed can be made into a twin upon request. The second bedroom is also kingsize and there is a separate family shower room. Views can be enjoyed from every room (please note that there is a signal mast on site, but this is positioned behind the property and can only be seen from the bottom of the driveway and the parking area).
Woodlands Barn is located in the village of Chinley, which has a lot to offer with two great pubs within walking distance as well as an Indian restaurant, convenience store, launderette, pharmacy, post office, fish and chip shop and two cafés. Train links take you into Sheffield or Manchester city centre, and very popular village of Edale is on this line. Locally there are some great walking or cycling routes as well so take your bikes on the train and cycle back. Immediate walks from the property is the adjacent Cracken Edge to Kinder Scout and South Head.
A short drive from the property is the Spa town of Buxton which has great shops, restaurants, Pooles Cavern and Buxton Opera House hosting shows weekly. Visit Castleton where you can explore the underground caves in a boat or visit Chatsworth House and Gardens or Lyme Park for a historic day out at these beautiful stately homes. There are ample of things to do and explore in this area making for a fun-filled Peak District holiday.

The village has several good pubs, including one of the oldest pubs in the Peak District and another which offers home brewed Ashover ales. The county town of Matlock, a former spa town, offers a host of fine eating places, good shops and an interesting museum, whilst at the heart of the town, Hall Leys Park provides a lovely setting for a host of recreational activities such as bowls, tennis and boating.
Enjoy a thrilling day at Gulliver’s Kingdom, with its owl maze, water gardens, nature trails, exhilarating rides and cable car trips over the magnificent Matlock Gorge. Follow the High Peak Cycle Trail, explore the lovely market town of Bakewell, famous for the Bakewell pudding or visit the elegant Chatsworth House and Hardwick Hall where it all started for the Cavendish family. There is certainly plenty to see and do at this wonderful location.

Bee Keepers Cottage is located on a working farm on the edge of Derbyshire’s Peak District, the cottage overlooks the 18 hole golf course at Shirland Golf and country club where visitors day passes are available.

The cottage has beautiful rural views and offers guests the peace and quiet of rural living yet within easy access of local attractions and transport networks, and there is a golf course boarding the property’s grounds and miles of footpath networks adjacent to the farm.

Chatsworth House, Hardwick Hall and Crich tramway museum are a short drive away. Local towns include Matlock, Bakewell and Chesterfield. Derby and Nottinghamshire are a 20-minute drive.

The location is popular with walkers who enjoy the beautiful walks and trails straight from the doorstep.

All accommodation is on the ground floor. The Large modern kitchen/dining area to seat 6 and opens out onto the living area with Smart TV. The kitchen has an electric eye level oven, built in microwave, induction hob, fridge/ freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

Two bedrooms have king size beds, and the third a single bed, and there is a family bathroom with bath and shower above – there is also an additional shower room with quadrant shower cubicle, toilet and basin.

Outside there are two seating areas, a BBQ, gardens and plenty of off-road parking.

Guests are welcome to visit the horses in the barn next to the property (prior arrangement with the owner), please supervise children for their safety.

Little Barn is a light, bright, stunning detached barn situated on an equestrian centre, with sheep, hens and a very friendly dog. The barn is next to a golf course, overlooking rural countryside and with the owner living on-site. This property offers open plan living at its very best. The cottage offers walking and cycling right from the doorstep, and within a 5-minute drive there are trials for walking, cycling and horse riding, and within 15 minutes is the Crich Tramway Museum. Little Barn is located next to the villages of Higham and Wessington where you will find country pubs serving food and real ale. Close by is Hardwick Hall, built in the 1590s by ’Bess of Hardwick’, the second most powerful woman in England after Queen Elizabeth I. The Hall, and even its original tapestries and textiles, have survived unaltered for four centuries, and it is now open to the public by the National Trust. Near the estate’s original water mill, still in operation and open to visitors, is the Hardwick Inn, also built in the 16th century, probably by the masons who built the hall.
A little further away are the delights of the Peak District, including Chatsworth House, a 30-minute drive, and the town of Matlock is just a 15-minute drive, with the amazing Heights of Abraham at nearby Matlock Bath, as well as some stunning countryside. For a nostalgic journey back in time through the Derbyshire countryside take a trip on one of Peak Rails steam engines, or visit Cromford Canal and take a trip into the past on an historic narrow boat. The towns of Chesterfield and Derby are just a 20-minute drive away, and nearby Nottinghamshire is also just 20-minutes away, here you can visit Nottingham’s castle or Sherwood Forest to go on a Robin Hood hunt! Close by is Teversal, a small village in Nottinghamshire which is surrounded by the Teversal Trail Visitors Centre, offering great access to the Teversal and Pleasley Trails network, perfect for enjoying a variety of walks and cycle routes. Visit the famous Crooked Spire in Chesterfield, Gulliver’s Kingdom in Matlock or for thrill seekers, Alton Towers theme park. Nestled in a truly rural location, this attractive detached barn has been thoughtfully converted retaining many beams, and is situated in the grounds of the owner’s home in the delightful rural hamlet of Alton, just 7 miles from Matlock. The original farmhouse is early 19th century, and was historically both a working farm and a pub. Featured as one of the doctor’s houses in the TV series ’Peak Practice’, this makes an excellent base for visiting all the Peak District has to offer, with Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall close at hand, as well as Crich Tram Village and Hardwick Hall. The renowned show caves at Castleton are an easy drive, whilst Carsington Water for fly fishing and watersports is within 15 miles. Chesterfield with its crooked church spire is just 6 miles.
