Bee Keepers Cottage is located on a working farm on the edge of Derbyshire’s Peak District, the cottage overlooks the 18 hole golf course at Shirland Golf and country club where visitors day passes are available.

The cottage has beautiful rural views and offers guests the peace and quiet of rural living yet within easy access of local attractions and transport networks, and there is a golf course boarding the property’s grounds and miles of footpath networks adjacent to the farm.

The accommodation at Bee Keepers cottage is spaced over a single storey and offers light, bright accommodation with beautiful gardens and views of the rolling Derbyshire countryside.

Chatsworth House, Hardwick Hall and Crich tramway museum are a short drive away. Local towns include Matlock, Bakewell and Chesterfield. Derby and Nottinghamshire are a 20-minute drive.

The location is popular with walkers who enjoy the beautiful walks and trails straight from the doorstep.

All accommodation is on the ground floor. The Large modern kitchen/dining area to seat 6 and opens out onto the living area with Smart TV. The kitchen has an electric eye level oven, built in microwave, induction hob, fridge/ freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

Two bedrooms have king size beds, and the third a single bed, and there is a family bathroom with bath and shower above – there is also an additional shower room with quadrant shower cubicle, toilet and basin.

Outside there are two seating areas, a BBQ, gardens and plenty of off-road parking.

Guests are welcome to visit the horses in the barn next to the property (prior arrangement with the owner), please supervise children for their safety.

Little Barn is a light, bright, stunning detached barn situated on an equestrian centre, with sheep, hens and a very friendly dog. The barn is next to a golf course, overlooking rural countryside and with the owner living on-site. This property offers open plan living at its very best. A spacious living/kitchen/dining area has been furnished with a quirky, eclectic range of items, which will be adored by everyone who stays there. Little Barn has been designed for people who want to get away from it all regardless of the time of year to enjoy the beauty and tranquillity offered by this idyllic location. Relax on the patio and enjoy the views over the hills to the famous Crich Stand war memorial.
The cottage offers walking and cycling right from the doorstep, and within a 5-minute drive there are trials for walking, cycling and horse riding, and within 15 minutes is the Crich Tramway Museum. Little Barn is located next to the villages of Higham and Wessington where you will find country pubs serving food and real ale. Close by is Hardwick Hall, built in the 1590s by ’Bess of Hardwick’, the second most powerful woman in England after Queen Elizabeth I. The Hall, and even its original tapestries and textiles, have survived unaltered for four centuries, and it is now open to the public by the National Trust. Near the estate’s original water mill, still in operation and open to visitors, is the Hardwick Inn, also built in the 16th century, probably by the masons who built the hall.
A little further away are the delights of the Peak District, including Chatsworth House, a 30-minute drive, and the town of Matlock is just a 15-minute drive, with the amazing Heights of Abraham at nearby Matlock Bath, as well as some stunning countryside. For a nostalgic journey back in time through the Derbyshire countryside take a trip on one of Peak Rails steam engines, or visit Cromford Canal and take a trip into the past on an historic narrow boat. The towns of Chesterfield and Derby are just a 20-minute drive away, and nearby Nottinghamshire is also just 20-minutes away, here you can visit Nottingham’s castle or Sherwood Forest to go on a Robin Hood hunt! Close by is Teversal, a small village in Nottinghamshire which is surrounded by the Teversal Trail Visitors Centre, offering great access to the Teversal and Pleasley Trails network, perfect for enjoying a variety of walks and cycle routes. Visit the famous Crooked Spire in Chesterfield, Gulliver’s Kingdom in Matlock or for thrill seekers, Alton Towers theme park. Woodside View is in the picturesque village of Longnor which is in the heart of the Peak District.

There is a local pub within a mile which serves real ale and good food. There is a well-stocked licensed general store, a post office which sells wonderful breads and preserves. Longnor has a fish and chip shop and a small, but delightful childrens park Woodside View is a haven for walkers and cyclists to explore the Tissington and High Peak cycle tracks.
Nearby is Buxton with its eventful Opera House, the Crescent Hotel which was recently opened boasting a 5-star spa and the pavilion Gardens, Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are both within easy reach, along with numerous National Trust Properties, Parks and Gardens, and delightful historic market towns and villages.

There are hundreds of miles of trails which start straight from the barn, it is an ideal opportunity to park-up, put the car keys away and just relax! Bailey’s Barn is a great base from which to explore the beauty and majesty of the region’s peaks, dales and rivers. With its own quirky traditions such as Bonsall Carnival, International Hen Racing Championships, ancient buildings and History Trails, Bonsall itself is a delightful find with two pubs and a lovely tearoom all within half a mile or so. The owners live on-site, and are on hand to help with any queries. Shop, café and pub 500 yards, restaurant 2 miles.

This fantastic Grade II listed farm house building is bursting with character. It is spacious and has social rooms to be enjoyed, plus extensive gardens with beautiful views down the valley. The ground floor of this home offers a typical farmhouse style kitchen with traditional Rayburn and dining table in the centre of the room, there is an electric/gas range cooker also available, plus everything else you should need to cook up a great meal for all. There is a dining room, a sitting room with a wood burner, a further living room with a TV and an extensive DVD selection, a utility with additional fridge and freezer space, washing machine and tumble dryer, plus hanging space to dry clothes. There are also two downstairs toilets, plus a double bedroom. On the first floor are the remainder of the bedrooms, one having an en-suite. The rooms are made up of a variety of sleeping arrangements to suit all the family, and there is a fantastic bathroom with free standing roll tap bath, large shower and ’his and her’ sinks.
Outside in the rear garden you have beautiful views down the valley, there is a patio area with furniture and a lawn. To the front of the property there is ample parking, a covered barbeque area with dining table plus further seating gathered around a firepit to enjoy the summer evenings.
Tissington has a lot to offer; it is the home of the well-dressing event, Tissington Hall, and the Tissington Trail is one of the best walking and cycling routes in the Peak District. Another fantastic walk from Tissington is to Dovedale, where the famous Dovedale stepping stones are. Alton Towers is a 25 minute drive which makes a great day out for all the family. This truly is a fantastic property to return back to after you have finished exploring for the day.

Enjoy watching the abundant wildlife, especially the birds which are attracted to our bird feeder. Lodge guests are free to make use of the BBQ’s dotted around the award-winning Marina or travel further afield on the bikes available for you to borrow free-of-charge.
Our lodge is also home to table football and a swing ball set. Laburnum Lodge has two parking spaces with step free access into the lodge, which was designed especially for its first owner, a wheelchair user. Laburnum Lodge is fully equipped with all the essentials, including a dishwasher, Nespresso machine, Smart TV and Fibre Broadband. You will also find some more old-fashioned extras including a selection of holiday reads and board games. The central dining area seats up to six people, with an extendable dining table. After dinner, retire to relax on the 3-seater sofas with electric reclining mechanisms. veranda facing South and West to ensure both day and evening sun. Outside there are a selection of seating options, to suit sun and shade worshippers.

Why not take advantage of the Boardwalk, a promenade of six boutique retailers, centred around a fabulous two storey bar and restaurant. From here you front onto a raised wooden walkway offering terrific views of the water, boats, and wildlife. You will also discover a sensory garden at the end of The Boardwalk to sit and relax and watch the world go by. Close by Findern is a lovely village situated about six miles west of Derby. The village green is overlooked by All Saints Parish Church where a carved semi-circular stone or ’tympanum’ discovered when the previous Norman Church was demolished in 1862, is preserved. There are great walks in the area and It is a great base to explore the Peak District with its market towns of Bakewell and Ashbourne, as well as its many pretty villages. Also, the National Trust properties of Calke Abbey, Kedleston Hall and Sudbury Hall with its museum of childhood are all within 10 miles. A little further is the National Trust owned Hardwick Hall, and the Duke of Devonshire’s Chatsworth Estate with its annual country fair and Adventure Farm for children.
The National Memorial Arboretum and the rich heritage of Burton-on-Trent with its fantastic National Brewery Centre Museum is just down the road. You can also venture into the National Forest with the award-winning Conkers attraction just 10 miles away, plus Castle Donnington racetrack is just 20 minutes’ drive and Alton Towers is 30 minutes’ away. Monameeth bungalow has been renovated into luxury self-catering accommodation. It is located in the beautiful village of Monyash, just a short drive from its nearest towns of Bakewell and Buxton, which both offer fantastic shops, restaurants, cafés and attractions. Monyash has an excellent pub within walking distance from the property which serves great drinks along with tasty home cooked meals, the perfect stop after a day walking the trails.
Monameeth offers great garden space and parking. Enter the property from the rear porch into the large, social kitchen which has been finished to an excellent standard, and which offers everything you should need during your stay. There is also a large dining table with chairs in here to seat all guests. There is a comfortable living room, three bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite, plus there is a family bathroom. It is an excellent base to discover the Peak District National Park.
