  • Quarterberth, DevonInstant Book Overlay Image
    Brixham, England
The Quarterbeth is a beautiful wing of a Georgian house in Brixham harbour with sea views from most rooms but has the benefit of a relatively level walk into town (a luxury in this port town)! The property is just a few steps from the seawall and all the pubs, cafés and restaurants Brixham has to offer and it showcases a brand new kitchen, open plan living area, two double bedrooms, a family bathroom and an additional downstairs toilet. The South West Coastal path is directly in front of the house and various boat trips and cliff walks are on the doorstep.
The property is a newly converted and totally independent portion of the owners family home. The living, dining and kitchen spaces are made up of two original Georgian rooms, so high ceilings and great proportions, but with a brand new boiler and radiators there is no danger of being cold! One bedroom and the toilet are downstairs and the other bedroom and shower room are upstairs where there is also a washer/dryer. These rooms are smaller as they are built into what was originally a sail loft added to the side of the house at some point in the 19th century. The hallway and bathrooms have underfloor heating and heated towel bars to help with drying out wet shoes/coats/etc. Behind the kitchen is a small courtyard where you can either sit outside and/or hang clothes (please note that it does not have a gate to separate it from the main front garden). There is a garden bench in the front garden where you are welcome to sit and have a coffee and watch the world go by.
The house has no parking outside but it is possible to pull over to unload before parking in the secure public car park for which the owners provide one parking permit for (approx 500m away). Additional parking can be rented from Torbay council. The bus also stops directly outside the property although you do not really need it as it is a very short walk into Brixham town/harbour and Breakwater Beach. Brixham is a working seaside town with narrow streets and quaint lanes, situated around a beautiful harbour. As Brixham is a fishing port, it is easy to find a restaurant that specialises in fresh fish and you can regularly find the ‘catch of the day’ being served. The vast majority of pubs, cafés and restaurants are dog friendly. Beach ½ mile.
