    Four miles away the larger community of Winkleigh has an excellent range of facilities including a village store, post office, butchers, two public houses and a petrol station. A wider range of services and facilities are available in the nearby market town of Hatherleigh.     Snowdrop Cottage is a pretty Grade II listed thatched cottage set in a wonderfully peaceful location in the mid-Devon village of Lapford. This 300-year-old mid terrace holiday home is the perfect spot for a couple or a family to come and enjoy a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle. Based in the heart of the village, there is a great 16th century dog friendly pub nearby as well as a train station which runs an hourly service between Barnstaple and Exeter and a convenience store.
    The cottage has two bedrooms and plenty of character with many original features such as the traditional Devonshire cob walls and the quaint original cottage doors. Walk along the cobbled path leading to the front door and step into the cottage and into the cosy living room with it’s comfortable seating, electric wood burner, Smart TV with freeview and a table and chairs to enjoy a home cooked meal. The stylish kitchen boasts granite worktops, charming wooden units and it is fully equipped with an electric oven, induction hob, microwave, under-counter fridge with an icebox and a coffee pod machine. The kitchen then leads to a useful utility room with a washing machine and the shower room which has a shower cubicle, toilet and sink.
    Heading up to the first floor, there are two well presented bedrooms; the first with a double bed and the second with a single bed and an additional pull-out single trundle bed. Please be aware that there isn’t any floor space in the single room when both beds are setup so it is really only suitable for two children. Please note that due to the nature of the age of the cottage, the stairs are steep, but handrail is provided.
    Lapford is a charming village on the Tarka railway line and within a 30-minute drive there are a choice of National Parks and pretty towns and villages. Visit the rugged coastline and beaches of the North and South Devon coasts for a rejuvenating day by the sea. To the north you have the beautiful villages of Croyde and Woolacombe which offer sandy beaches and to the south you have the dramatic red cliffs of Sidmouth with its pebbled beach and Exmouth with its various watersports on offer. The beaches are around 50 - 70 minutes’ drive from the property.
    Other local popular attractions include Eggesford Forest, RHS Rosemoor, Castle Drogo, various National Trust properties and family theme parks such as the Milky Way, Crealey and the Big Sheep. For those looking for an adventure during their stay, then you must discover the National Parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor which are renowned for their changing landscape, stunning views, deep wooded valleys with fast flowing rivers and rugged, wide-open spaces.     West Yeo Farm is just a couple of miles from Witheridge and a short drive from the market town of South Molton, known for its pannier market, quaint tea rooms and antiques shops.
