The living room, drawing room and dining room so that everyone can enjoy eating together. The kitchen is a large area, ideal for social gatherings and with a range of appliances to make your stay just perfect. Bean coffee machine, hot tap (no waiting for a kettle). Plenty of refrigeration space including three fridges, including a specific wine cooler and ice dispenser. If you’re cooking a ceramic induction hob and double gas oven plus microwave.
    The Westgate train station is 200 yards away with mainline into London and Margate. Alternatively, a quick easy taxi or bus travel into Margate, just five minutes away or any of the surrounding towns in the area. The beautiful Westgate beach is just 7 minutes’ walk and if you want to wander there are beaches in both directions, Minnis Bay, Birchington to the left and Margate to the right as you face the sea. These days, Margate fizzes with artistic energy. To traditional, holiday-town charms, add a world-class art gallery. Margate’s Old Town rejoices in a funky vibe. Here chic eateries, galleries, vintage shops and chilled-out cafés rub shoulders with traditional seaside delights: candyfloss stands; fish and chip shops; seafood stalls. The reinvigorated Harbour Arm is home to stylish spots to eat and drink. Just five minutes from the Old Town you will find emporiums of everything antique, old fashioned and unusual at RG Scott’s Furniture Market and Junk Deluxe. For more than 100-years Margate’s Winter Gardens have drawn big-name acts, from the Beatles to the Kaiser Chiefs. The town’s Theatre Royal is the second oldest in the country, while the Tom Thumb Theatre is one of the smallest theatres in the world. August brings an explosion of colour and sound, as Margate’s vibrant, annual carnival procession snakes through the town over Margate Soul Weekend.     Smarden was once a village thriving on the wool industry, and is now a sleepy backwater of old England, so classically Kentish that it is sometimes in film sets. In the heart of the village is a cluster of half-timbered houses with Kent peg-tiled roofs. For day trips, Sissinghurst Castle Gardens are well worth a visit, as are the vineyards at Biddenden. Leeds Castle is easily accessible and it closely resembles a fairytale palace, rather than a fortress. The fine aviary and maze are also sure to keep children interested and amused. Golf can be found locally at Chart Hills. One of England’s world heritage cities, Canterbury has much to offer, with many shops, restaurants, and theatres. A former church, now called The Canterbury Tales, has guided tours that lead through galleries and recount Chaucer’s tales. Farm Cottage (ref W43578) is a quaint, semi-detached, converted farmhouse comfortably sleeping 4 guests, and has been renovated to a good standard. Guests can enjoy access to a good-sized garden, an open plan living/dining room and a well-equipped kitchen, as well as a small chalk cave which is characteristic of the area and which the owners are happy to show guests around.
    Stable Cottage (ref UKC3922), complete with its stable door, adjoins the owners’ converted farmhouse and is ideally suited to couples. This holiday cottage was renovated in 2018 to a good standard, retaining some original features including an exposed wall in the living room. Guests can enjoy access to a garden at the front of the cottage.
    A short stroll from the properties will take you into the coastal town of Margate where local attractions include the famous Turner Gallery, Margate Old Town and Shell Grotto. Catch a band at the Winter Gardens or hop on a retro ride at Dreamland.
